Maybe it is just me, but I still find Dirt 2's graphics a lot better. Probably since it isn't just a bunch of dull racetracks.

Can't agree more, it looks nice, but the colors are too dull. For comparison:

Hmm. I play on full. Is it me or did the patch say it was supposed to fix the tyre trails left in rain by cars?
I've raced in heavy rain but haven't seen trails anywhere..
This game is pretty fantastic though.
It looks nice. But the game disappointed me: Seriously, why a 3D-Environment as menu? Loading the menu takes ages. And steering is unrealistic in my eyes. You even don't slide accidentally if you are driving with 200 km/h into a corner. I bought this game for my father since he is a F1 fan but he also got disappointed. He still prefers the F1 2001 game over it (but it has awful graphic).

I find it difficult to properly judge graphics through videos and even screenshots sometimes.

It's the onboard camera. It usually gets wet when it's raining.

Do you have vsync turned on? Somehow, it lengthens the loading times considerably. Disabling it makes every loading screen faster.
