So is there a technical limitation for why this trick isn't used in gaming or movies?

I could imagine this being pretty freaky in horror games.
You have to adjust your entire audio for this to work, and get 2 mics to mimic the 2 ears.
Were there ever any other videos as good as this one? whenever you search it up on youtube you get this video and then a bunch of shit not nearly as good

Well I guess it couldn't be used for the entire game but surely it's simple enough of a gimmick to use for selective purposes?

There's things like this already in video games, I remember Penumbra/Amnesia made you install OpenAL to implement spacial audio. I also think this sort of feature's somewhat featured in Half-Life 2.
