May cause discomfort. But, this is a very humane way of killing them. That guy is pretty nice too.
This is what the majority of the meat business is. I wish PETA would stop stereotyping the industry by showing those horror, poor practice slaughterhouses.
Boohoo, get over it. This is how it's been done for hundreds of years.
Video's not loading for me.
Propaganda at it's finest.

[editline]19th April 2011[/editline] how about EVEN watching the video before making a comment
Propaganda at it's finest.
And the shit PETA produces isn't?
Propaganda at it's finest.
Vegan at it's finest.
That was pretty interesting.
Propaganda at it's finest.
propoganda of what exactly
propoganda of what exactly
Vegans. PETA are basically trying to say all non vegans are soul-less satanists.
I get fucking fed up with all the hurr durr animal cruelty bullshit. It is natural for humans to eat meat. It is a part of your fucking diet. Compared to animals in the wild we kill things much more efficiently, a lion does not give two fucks if it eats a gazelle half alive or not. Fuck off and stop being whiny bitches and pretending to care. You are the sort of people that will go to a video of someone harmlessly playing with a cat and naming it cruel even if the owner and the cat clearly have a bond. /rant.
I understand this slaughter house has high standards. They don't need the same passion as this guy, but how hard can it be to properly stun and kill an animal?

Did ANYONE in this thread EVEN say anything remotely related to what you claim people say? Did you EVEN watch the video? (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - Autumn))

[editline]19th April 2011[/editline] And you sir, are a Cunt if I am a piece of shit. (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - Autumn))
This is what the majority of the meat business is.
where's the proof of that exactly?
but how hard can it be to properly stun and kill an animal?
I don't know from experience but if you're stunning and killing animals all day as a job you do all week, you're bound to fuck up, you get bored and stop caring as much and only do what gets you by rather than giving your 100%. Cut corners, etc. I can tell this guy probably doesn't make a huge profit in comparison to if he didn't do all that humane stuff.

Yeah you loose like 90% of the profit for stunning the animals.
I have a lot of respect for these people taking time out of there business to humanely deal with animals and sacrifice profit to give the animals what they deserve in death. Props to them.

It doesn't take that much more effort and it's not like these people get paid more for killing more animals. Many jobs are repetitive. Many jobs require you to not cut corners. Why not in the food industry too?
I don't get why we even argue this. We all want food for a reasonably cheap price right? We want it in bulk so we can have it at anytime right? Then don't complain. Everyone wants to eat, specially in excess and then they turn around and act surprised at how it is made. Sure there are some shady slaughterhouses who don't know how to run properly, but you can say the same for every type of business. There will always be that small percent of business that are fucked up and don't know how to properly do their own work. This slaughterhouse in particular just goes to show how the process works, it is clean, effective, and humane. I mean I don't know how you could get any kinder - a quick death and that is it. You can also tell the man has pride in how he does his job and does not feel sorry for his herd, but has respect for them because he knows that they're going to feed people and keep food on his table. Also, before people start getting in to that mind set "oh god that is awful." They're cattle, not pets. They've been bred for that soul purpose and that purpose is to be turned in to food to feed us. I honestly think that cows that get milked have it worse then a cow in a slaughterhouse.
that's nice of them to be all humane and stuff :buddy:
That guy seems really nice. Also, near the end, I kind of got hungry.
At least they kill them before the slaughter. Thats nice.
Now I'm hungry.
very informative. the only thing that grossed me out was the blood gushing from the one sheep, and the intestines from all the animals.
Humane stuff like stunning the animal before stabbing it in the throat, opposed to just stabbing it in the throat. Yeah you loose like 90% of the profit for stunning the animals.
It saves time, you get more product out for less labor and time. It's all minor stuff that adds up, time spent, labor, export, electrical bill, feeding them properly, proper habitat, keeping them clean. I'm sure it's a lot cheaper to slice their throat open than to operate and maintain humane methods like the electrodes (I assume) and that cattle gun which probably needs cleaning and pressurized air refills. Anything to save a couple hundred dollars, or less even.
Ugh, after the first cut into the animal, I couldn't stand watching anymore of it.
where's the proof of that exactly?
Now this is definitely the cleanest and most humane slaughterhouse I've seen. AFAIK most slaughterhouses in the United States use captive bolt pistols to stun the animal first. Kosher meat is always bleed out alive though.
I prefer see that than imported food from China...
