It looks like warband with better animations and graphics, which is initially all I ever wanted from bannerlord. What I am more interested in now is what they've done with the meta game, I'd like to see more dept in the economy, trading, faction relationships, politics and all that good stuff.
Still no release date, eh?
I'm really digging those big clouds of dust all the horses throw up. I've only recently become interested in M&B after finding out a bit more about how the game actually plays beyond the battles. I'm glad I'll have this to look forward to.
is there gonna be cloth physics
wow it finally looks like a game not from the 90's
Of all the things at E3, riding a horse has captured my attention the most. Can't wait.
Still the same old font, I see :v:
Still the same old font, I see :v:
If it aint broke don't fix it
the mods for this are gonna be the coolest shit ever
Nobody is talking about the battle AI. Warband AI would usually just keep all the troops together and either attack or defend. Defenders sometimes looking for higher ground. Attackers just run straight at the enemy. Now both sides split up their troops, they'll attempt to harass the enemy with missiles, send cavalry after archers, and other smart things. More importantly, AI army leaders will designate sergeants within their army who will have command of some troops like a squad and then you give tasks to that sergeant and they decide how to complete that task. This is shown in these videos where the player is actually a sergeant in someone else's army and they keep receiving orders throughout the battles. This AI, man. It gets my dick hard.
That's cool and all but yeah I'm way more interested in the metagame
there's only two things that i want them to fix in bannerlord - "i don't need armour 2h lmao" baybladers spinning great axes at 12000rpm - polystyrene horses the first one looks pretty solved at the moment, but i'm real worried about the second one - the absolute worst part of cavalry combat in mount and blade was when you accidentally clipped a microchode stone poking out of the ground, causing your horse to halt with such speed that the rider should be reduced to atomic dust by the force not to mention your horse would rear up and whiney which made me want to clegane the fuck out of it and just run into combat https://youtu.be/IUkL42p3Mss?t=175 the horse stops on a dime and whines - what he does to the rider is super cool, but if your horse stops every time you hit another horse with no impact, this is once again going to be a game of except when you hit a dead end with your purple car you get absolutely pincushioned by twelve thousand spears wielded by shiteaters who know that your horse is secretly made out of bushels of wheat
i hope theyve improved the character creation.
i hope theyve improved the character creation.
They have. They showed character creation at (I think) Gamescom.

Villages and towns have specific trades, more options for construction, introduction of 'influence' for politics, organised crime ect. Completely agree with you, the combat in warband was just so damn satisfying that they really didn't need to improve it that much, it was everything on the campaign map that needed a lot of work. It's fine in the early game but once you get to late game kingdom building you realise how thin the meta is.
crashing your horse into another horse should just ragdoll both the horses and both the riders that would be cool as fuck
and also annoying as fuck after the first time. Would start making things overly frustrating. Everything in those videos was sexy as fuck though. Really excited for it.
and also annoying as fuck after the first time. Would start making things overly frustrating. Everything in those videos was sexy as fuck though. Really excited for it.
i suppose it would require some sort of poise stat for the horses and/or riders
I'm interested to see if they're going to fix the combat in terms of multiplayer or if they're going to cave to the inevitable whining of the multiplayer scene and embrace the cheese of the previous games I'm talking about the "making 360 turn swings while running backwards with a 2 handed sword is a viable tactic" kind of bullshit

It wasn't fun, and at least in the case of Mount and Musket/Napoleonic Wars it really took away some of the immersion and fun during Line Battles when you see a guy jumping through the air and stabbing someone at the end of his jump, all without any stab animation (because you basically cancelled that with your jump).
got so sweaty watching those videos I cannot wait for this
It's amazing what a difference blood all over the battlefield makes for immersion. It looks way better than a pile of unscathed ragdolls.
To see this game come so far is amazing.

Originally, you were to killing King Harlaus and he'd come back as an undead king. There were zombies, a rough storyline and ghouls resurrected by necromancers. I know this is a bit off topic, but this stuff I find fascinating.
that should be an official expansion pack to bannerlord Mount & Blade 2: Return of the Butterlord
Well, Bannerlord is a prequel, kind of hard to have a zombie form of someone who hasn't been born yet... actually, time travelling zombies would be awesome! I want it to happen!
Good to see that you and enemies can still be knocked out by riderless horses running about the battlefield.
