If Americans actually find this show funny, and don't find the English one funny, I may just lose that last remaining drop of faith in humanity.
Ugh, why do UK TV shows have to be remade for american audiences? It's not like there's a language barrier or anything.
Perhaps if the show had some originality it would be better, but it seems they've stole half the jokes and plotlines from the original.
This was destined to be shit from the start.
I haven't seen the original show, but since this is another dime-a-dozen American Teen tv show, it definitely will be shit.
I can tell when they were trying to do a joke but they were really unfunny
alright lets get the worst narrator ever, bunch of hot girls and a bunch of super funny jokes uhhh what else CAR WASH!
MTV. Just. Stop. Nothing you do is good. Go back to music.
i mean it really looks like they just took every "teen movie" ever and well it just looks like every teen movie ever
I know it's just a trailer but I noticed a distinct lack of swears. The UK version doesn't go 3 seconds without swearing.
My biggest question is why US remakes of foreign shows always have to shit on the plot, feel, and fans of the source material. This has nothing to do with "The Inbetweeners". They just want the name.
Watching that made me feel ever so slightly slightly physically ill. So, how popular do you figure this will be?

The only show that was a good US remake was The Office. Everything else is shiet
So, how popular do you figure this will be?
If teen mom is any indication, sickeningly. People here tend to be oblivious when it comes to knowing if a show is a remake. That, and I know too many people here that actually enjoy MTV's programming. Fuck, I knew a girl that thought there were two James Bond movies and three Star Wars films.

[editline]18th July 2012[/editline] brb watching the original series on DVD
i mean it really looks like they just took every "teen movie" ever and well it just looks like every teen movie ever
Inbetweeners was a teen-comedy, only featuring more true-to-life characters cursed with the worst luck and social grace imaginable. Ameritweeners is the same thing, only copied, pasted and then shoved brutally back into the teen comedy mould the original show was trying to escape from. Well done, guys. You did it again. You took what was unbroken and thoroughly broke it.
My main gripe is that the main character, Will, is meant to be unattractive. In both personality and appearance. Like this: USA Will, from the trailer, looks like 'generic attractive-but-nerdy shy-guy'.
I lost my liking for The Inbetweeners when everyone kept talking about it, kind of got sick of it [editline]18th July 2012[/editline]
My main gripe is that the main character, Will, is meant to be unattractive. [editline]18th July 2012[/editline] Saying that, this looks like every American teen comedy ever just remade. the narrator in the trailer stating the fucking obvious was just hilariously bad.
Um, wasn't that pretty much Will's character in t he UK one as well?
No. No one liked Will because he talked down to everyone and genuinely believed to be smarter than others, initially. He still has the incredibly naive world view that he developed in his private school. Not even his 'friends' like him, initially. He just clings to them until Simon manages to get them to go easy on him. At least that's what I get from the series.
NO
The only show that was a good US remake was The Office. Everything else is shiet
US Whose Line kicked ass.
This reminds me of that new US Sherlock Holmes series. Except it's set in New York. And John Watson is a Joan Watson, and is Asian. And it's called Elementary. And it uses CIA crime-solving skills. Kill me please.
Why the flip-flying fuck would we remake this? Who is the jackass that thought remaking this would be a good idea?
