I'm sure you will all focus on the content but my main concern is that it's off key and it hurts my ears
how exactly does this promote equality
a shitstorm is born
how exactly does this promote equality
It's not supposed to, It's parodying the majority of modern day feminists.
I think this is another case of using something with nothing wrong with it and make a drama out of it. Male models have been used in so many videoclips with female leads this shouldn't be an issue at all.

dunno man
watching blurred lines made me a wee bit uncomfortable what with the lyrics basically being like "yo i know you want sex i just need to coax it out you"
and the fact robin thicke is a bit of a prat.
but it's so fuckin catchy

Not saying the lyrics aren't awful, but that could be said to so many songs.. ever saw the lyrics for "If I Were A Boy" and "Single Ladies"? One pictures an awful image of men and another pressures men into marrying. Of course this is all looking into it too much, in the end it's all just pop songs with bad lyrics.
It's up to the audience to dislike and not listen to bad music, I can't agree to police that kind of thing because it's still artistic freedom.

Every claim has been dismissed by members of the team working the song. All you have is personal interpretation of lyrics, which means nothing considering the content is dirt talking and lyrics are always subjective.
You also have popular songs about killing, robbing and cheating too.
im interested in viewing more videos featuring half nude or fully nude men dancing. can anyone here help me out?
this is awful
if i want female empowerment ill listen to bikini kill or sleater-kinney or something
The song wasn't very good.

WHITE BOY...DON'T LAUGH...DON'T CRY...JUST DIE!
Wait wait, I don't get it. How does emasculating men promote equality. I don't, what? What?
I'm genuinely annoyed of fucking hearing Blurred Lines. I don't get it.
This was a pretty funny parody though.
Blurred Lines is pretty good, but Robin Thicke is a bit of a tool.
Still don't understand (the many forms of) feminism. Surely equality is the goal, not women being as dumb as some men.
Plus the original video was made with Thicke's wife in mind. She loves it apparently.

I liked Blurred Lines, I thought was more about men who can never take no for an answer and have the mentality of 'every girl wants it even if she is too much of a good girl to admit it'.

Feminism is the belief in having totally equal rights between the genders. This takes the stance of crush all men and make it a woman's world.
You wanna hug me
Hey, hey, hey
What rhymes with hug me?
Hey, hey, hey
lamest lyric ive ever heard hahahahha
Love this. And btw its obviously not seriously advocating castration. I'm pretty sure those lyrics are just a way to get accross how angry they are, which feminists have every right to be IMO.

No it doesn't. It really doesn't. I'm not gonna get into a big argument on this. But that kind attitude is just silly and immature. They're just pissed off, as any discriminated party would be. And yes, I'm sure you can throw examples of idiotic women who suggest crushing men and stuff, but in truth they are in no way representative of all feminists. Like the Black Panthers in the civil rights movement, they are just a loud, angry and dumb minority.

can you explain how this video implies this at all, or were you watching something completely different
it's basically a big fuck you to robin thicke, whose song was about coaxing sex out of women.
[editline]1st September 2013[/editline]
like seriously, what the fuck. the women who want a matriarchal society are such a minority that their viewpoints shouldn't even be acknowledged in an argument about feminism like this.
I'm offended that this is a poorly written song.
