Eh, if I get stuck in a loop I just haul ass back to base, that usually gets them off my ass.
After that you just get em when they are distracted.
Ah yes, the 310 turning speed experience
When I use to get stuck in a standoff like that I got my friend to start firing stingers, pretty cheap but it works :v:
i can probably count on one hand the number of times i have flown aircraft in battlefield games and every time has been a stressful experience that ended in fiery death so thank you for showing me what it is like
Don't be silly those are not jets, those are taxi cabs.

The worst part is that he had Active Radar Missiles because he had a vendetta against me. That means he was gonna do fuckall else with the jet other than trying to shoot me down because he LITERALLY can't do anything against any ground units. His sole purpose is to shoot me down.
I always run with the 30MM Cannon and Laser Guided missiles since it's the only way to be even remotely useful against ground vehicles.

And that's just the Stealth Jet Experience. The Attack Jet Experience is slightly better in the sense that you actually ruin the game for everybody else.

I recently discovered Staff shells on MBTs are the most evil pieces of shit.
Basically active missiles and they work amazing for taking out low flying jets.
This is why I rarely fly planes in bf4

Some song this guy made.
I felt that using an instrumental version would bit a bit more subtle than using the original version.
I pretty much only fly the attack jet, and if someone decides to chase me down, I just fly over base and if they want to follow me that's their loss. I just want to get back to providing air support sooner.
And if you think that was a long turning battle, wait until you see a pair of newbie attack jets go after each other.

literally worse than hitler
the swat are on their way to arrest you for crimes against humanity
i hope you like video game jail you scumbag
Meh. fly 800-1000 meters high and swoop behind them with, can fly all day up there un-bothered . Can also fire off two guided missiles from 800m pretty easily

I dunno, I literally feel like I can get more done as infantry than in a stealth jet. If the team is getting torn to pieces by air, then sure I'll spawn in it, but in that situation I'm not the best person to come to the rescue.
-Edit-
Or did you think that I meant flying the attack jet is literally all I did in BF4

Challenge yourself! Try to gun down infantry with a stealth jet and collect the resulting salt.

I remember doing this once on Hiney Resort, got a few kills but more often than not ended up making a "Controlled Flight into Terrain." And by terrain, I mean C rooftop.

ironic how even high up in the sky we can have tunnel vision
I've always avoided stealth jets due to this, although I might try out the ground attack jet more, I find flying air planes a lot easier then helicopters.
This is exactly what it was like in Planetside 2, who can turn the tighter circle

I legit wonder how pilots did it during WWII.
This is pretty much my experience with 1v1 dogfights in every flying game. Unless one of the planes is better than the other or one of the pilots is an idiot, it just ends in loops until someone fucks up or gets bored.
Reminds me of banshee battles in halo ce

To my understanding, there's a series of maneuvers and counter-maneuvers you use to try and get behind the other person by predicting and reacting to their actions. It was like a hi-speed game of high-stakes chess in the air and bristling with guns. Head-on runs were understood to be a generally poor idea.
Of course in real life, there were basically two categories of planes, boom n' zoom or turn and burn. Heavier planes, like the P-47, weren't very agile but could gain altitude and swoop past the enemy guns blazing before turning around quite some distance away to make another run. Lighter planes like the Japanese Zero were extremely agile, so wanted to engage in turning battles with their heavier American counterparts where the American fighters were at a maneuverability disadvantage.
Altitude is also key, since if you are higher than your opponent they are forced to fly up to you, which costs them speed. If you are high up, you can dive down to gain speed and swoop past enemies and swoop back up away from them by bleeding that speed back off. Speed is energy, and energy is a currency used to climb and make turns.
Add to this that planes were tuned and optimized to perform at certain altitudes, carried weapons ranging from 7.62mm MGs to the German fetish for 20/30mm cannons and even the occasional anti-tank gun, and there was a lot going on in the air.

Real air combat is completely different and incomparable to the super simplified BF3 and BF4 physics. There are so many more variables involved and if you just pull the stick back and hold it back you're going to fall out of the sky.
BF2 air-to-air was so great, took a lot of skill
Fucking J10 tho
Also I used to fly a lot with some of the best BF4 pilots in the game through weird happenstance. That could get interesting sometimes as long as it wasn't a straight up 1v1. I've always loved flying in the Battlefield games, and it's probably what I have the most hours doing in all of my Battlefield history, but I can't imagine how these guys like it so much that it's all they do in Battlefield. I don't want to pick on him, because he's a really cool guy, but I still find it insane. Some people just really dig BF4 dogfights I guess.
I find BF4 dogfights a chore. When you're up against somebody who isn't an idiot, it's a complete waste of time for both players because there are much more important things they could be doing instead. While the concept of a corner airspeed (313 minigame) is a sound one, and diving/climbing affecting your speed being right, there's just not enough depth to BF4's physics to make it interesting.
Battlefield 5 really needs to mix it up in some way. BF2's system was even simpler than BF3/4, and very strange from a physics point of view, but it worked a lot better. Ideally I'd love to see very soft flight sim physics put into the game so you can at least get things like angle of attack and stall speeds, maybe even an assist off mode like HAWX where you can make the plane do crazy things by trading off significant portions of speed.
