Okay, back story.
I know Connor from IRC. We were all blown away when he got the 029 so a lot of us called BS when he won the mainframe because it was surprisingly complete (You never get one cheap with the CSE). But as time went on he kept dumping a lot of the photos and we were all blown away by the fact he was actually setting it up. He recently did a presentation overviewing what to do in case you're just as crazy and yes, he was really nervous when he did it but he did it.

tl;dr: Connor buys a mainframe for 1/1000 the price new and runs into a ton of pitfalls getting it running. Lack of information, expensive hardware that he is missing, licensing and logistics, not limited to the 1500 pounds of rack and machine rolling across his not-really-level basement on its own.
Makes a presentation where people give him advice, someone gives him an IBM shirt and mentions that until he had to bring the machine down due to a flood the chinese were trying to bruteforce into the machine.
