Other player should have been Luigi.

Did you not see when the camera zoomed out?

Yeah, but what if it is far enough, say on the other side of the map?
This would of been more practical if it was split screen. Or it would fit it better if it was regular side scrolling super mario with only two dimensions.
Looked like the depth perception in-game was fucked from this.

Obviously, you've never played with the fixed camera in SM64. It looks like this uses a modified version of that. The camera will just zoom out as far as it needs to in order to keep both players on screen just as the normal fixed camera will zoom out as far as it needs to in order to keep Mario on screen.
This looks ridiculously fun. I have a friend who is my dedicated co-op partner for games, so we're gonna do this shit for sure.
I just wish it was Luigi...there MUST be a way to put him in.
They share both the same health?
"Or if you have no friends, control both players for an added challenge!"
No. Noone wants to do that. If you don't have friends don't download a fucking coop mod
What happens when someone gets a star while you're trying to get another star

have you perhaps ever heard of a joke?
Looks sick, but it could be really spiffy with a dynamic splitscreen.

It was clearly a joke
Was playing it with my friend, We kept losing the baby penguin...
*Streaming with a friend now.

I don't have a fucking clue how to play this shit, anyone wanna explain?

get the file in the description > play
I wouldn't have thought this possible.
Quick, someone do it to the Zelda games. (I know it probably isn't that easy)

Oh...I was gonna play it...oh well.
For some reason I never noticed how silly Mario's running animation is until I saw two people doing it at the same time.

Didn't Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64 and Ocarina of Time all share the same engine? I mean, granted, the coding between the three is probably extremely different, but people have managed to make multiple Links with separate controls before if I remember right; the biggest problem is the camera, probably..
[editline]26th October 2012[/editline]
Also not to mention the way OoT and Majora's Mask worked, with every room being separately loaded each time you enter one. It probably just wouldn't work well for two Links running around.

Also, Super Mario 64 was originally supposed to have Co-op, so thats a big part of why it works well.
Ehhh.... this really isn't the game to be playing co-op if it isn't split screen.
You see how hard it was to collect the red coins? As stated before, the depth perception is all fucked up, especially since the camera is going bonkers to keep both players on screen.
Nice to see the original idea for SM64 come to life!

Actually, co-op was never planned for Super Mario 64, it was supposed to be in its sequel on the Nintendo 64 Disk Drive. After that horribly failed in Japan, however, it was dropped.

The OOT's camera is unmodfied so its not actually fun to play. These both really need splitscreen.
