I have one of these. It's pretty bad at tracking sometimes, not too many good apps for it. I don't use it as much as I want to either...
What I'm more interested in is the fact that this has been around for quite some time, so I'm almost positive Elon is keeping something under wraps, that breakthrough he was talking about. The question is: what is it?
Sadly I'm not impressed. It's good for presentations once the tracking is improved.
There's a consumer version of hand trackers already on the market so I don't get it
It looks cool, but it's just much easier to use a mouse and scroll wheel. To be honest I don't think hand tracking technology will ever take off because it's tiring to hold your hand in the air in front of you for long periods of time.
Ooooh, you can move the camera around and make cross sections with gestures. Impressive... NOT. They didn't show any of the actual design process, if they manage to make it any easier maybe I will change my mind. This is completely useless as it is now, apart from looking cool. Its much faster and precise with a mouse, and if you want more 3D movement you can get a 3D mouse.
