I always hate when they do alts like these and then they won't even bother changing more than 1 spell effect.
Like seriously, one of your lines are about how chain and whips doesn't excite you, and then 30 seconds later you shoot chains and your spells summons chains just like the original torturer.

I couldn't say, as I've never played the game. Though, I don't think it's really anything new, right? Uncharted 3, for example, I purchased every single DLC skin and besides voice and appearance, it made no changes to the actual gameplay at all, but pick them up anyway for either the voice or the neater look they have than alternative characters. I just figured that was the norm...or I'm just really superficial, heh.

back when i played hon i was subbed to the uploader's channel, he uploads a lot of his videos from some kind of beta before the spell effects are implemented

I believe in response to some fan feedback, S2 made some changes to make Celsius' attacks more on par with his fire and ice theme, and released said update along with Salomon and his two other alts:
