this is making a pretty big impact on vimeo right now, there's not much to it so far, but it's pretty neato as a concept trailer
It's been worked on since 2011, surprised it hasn't been fully made yet.
That is some slick CGI right there, a full film on this story would blow a lot of Hollywood stuff out of the water so quickly.

Y'know i've given it some thought- why's all the cool shit like this SHORT cgi films? I mean... There's a few reasons why I can understand they're short because of things like budget perhaps. But it'd be great to see this made into a full-length film without losing its touch.

Short clips like this often don't translate well into films because of a lack of plot. There's a lot of backstory, sure, but nothing that actively stands out for a story.

I absolutely love WETA workshop, studied them for part of my adv diploma last year, they have a big place over in new Zealand that I would love to go see, they're so close but so far away!

It's just now making an impact? I watched that trailer as part of a 3D modelling class two years ago, it's been around for a while. I haven't heard any word on release of a full film.
Also, fun fact: the entire video is CGI. Everything you see is computer-generated.

I was reading through the link you posted, turns out the guy who designed the robots in Keloid designed most of the tech in Elysium.
I absolutely love CGI of this quality. You know, where it feels [I]real[/I].

Tether is one short film that I'd love to see made into a full length but I'm not entirely sure if it'd be good, same with this.

Because it's just a VFX reel without a script.
The end reminds me of the robot from the Routine trailer.
When can I see more of this?
The big 4 legged ones remind me of the Deus Ex robots that fill the role of a tank.
