Yep, part of Westchester county, which I'm right outside of.
When I first heard of it I was like "Wait, there's seriously a town with a name like that," it's so ridiculous. And everyone around here sees nothing unusual about it. :v:

How does someone get into politics in this country and not realize that something being democratic doesn't mean it's aligned with the Democratic party?
That guy is completely Yonkers.

here we go
how about some context
how about some context
That night they voted on Redistricting our local district lines for our council representives. Two plans up were the democratic plan done by the democrats in the council, Where as another plan thrown by our mayor of the city (Formerly republican) Threw up his compromise called the democratic caucus plan. This plan was pretty much the republicans original map that they put up months ago in response that kept the lines the same as the previous decade.
That yellow folder was another set of plans that he offered to set on the table if only the majority leader (The democrat who later voted with the republicans to keep the lines the same basically) or the minority leader (The republican who for sure will vote for the plan that keeps the lines the same). Neither of them wanted to bring it in cause they both wanted to support the plan that kept the lines the same (Mayors plan). So he threw it on the floor.
Later he was upset about the name of the plan because the mayor formerly republican before running for mayor created a plan that "Sides" with the republican candidates and supported by majority of republican office seats is called the democratic caucus plan. He left and now it's a debate of if his vote is an abstain or an absence. The majority leader took over the meeting where a 4-2 vote took place passing the mayors plan.
Now the majority of the public want the mayors plan (Keep the lines the same). The democratic plan would have split major communities and civic associations between 2 or 3 council members. Spreading further coverage and work needed by technically part-time council members (It's a part time job really). So in the end, The public won.
There should be a show centered around this guy, Office-style. By the looks of it, the show would practically write itself.

If I was an audience member and I saw him try to give him a trophy, I would have impulsively , "sit your ass down, what are you doing".
I think he was trying to get on fox news.
spices things up
