if youre doing that when the whole window is submerged, wouldnt that result in broken glass hurtling towards you and everyone in the car
That's not an ad. (And I really don't see how it's hilarious...)
if youre doing that when the whole window is submerged, wouldnt that result in broken glass hurtling towards you and everyone in the car
You're right, It's probably a better idea to stay and drown.
You're right, It's probably a better idea to stay and drown.
options, options
how is this an ad? also, mythbusters one was cooler
I like how she just opens the door and walks out in the end. :v:
Why does like every Japanese video have reaction faces on the video? Like on the top right it shows people watching it and their faces.
Why does like every Japanese video have reaction faces on the video? Like on the top right it shows people watching it and their faces.
I wondered this exact thing as soon as I started watching.
You can also wait until the water outside and inside the car equalize, so the car door will open effortlessly. Have to hold your breath for a long time, though.
How is this even remotely hilarious? Good to know though. I'll use this trick next time I find myself in a sinking car.
We have come to the conclusion that it wasn't an advertisement and it wasn't hilarious but it was damned well informative.
Why does like every Japanese video have reaction faces on the video? Like on the top right it shows people watching it and their faces.
it's a form of Japan TV. basically a bunch of people watch stuff and talk about it, this is one of the things they watched. It's Like AFV or Tosh.O but instead of one person it's like 7 of them and it's not ripped youtube videos most of the time
if youre doing that when the whole window is submerged, wouldnt that result in broken glass hurtling towards you and everyone in the car
The windows are made out of special glass that is specifically designed to be safe to break. Go ahead and break your windshield or window in the car and notice how the fragments are all little squarish pieces that don't have many sharp edges. It is much more preferable to have those glass pieces hitting you in the face to actual shards, and both are preferable to inevitably drowning in a sinking car.
if youre doing that when the whole window is submerged, wouldnt that result in broken glass hurtling towards you and everyone in the car
Yeah that's true, I'd rather struggle and drown finding an alternative rather than survive with only a few scrapes or cuts on my face from the glass.
This technique should be taught in drivers ed courses, up until now I thought the only way possible was to buy one of those glass breaker devices.
christ i thought that said how to escape a shrinking car
In america you can buy these things that look like pens that go on your keychain, Basically it's just a spring loaded point, you press it onto the glass, once you press hard enough it sort of shoots the tip and shatters the glass. Anything will work really as long as what you hit the window with has a small enough point [editline]28th July 2012[/editline]
You can also wait until the water outside and inside the car equalize, so the car door will open effortlessly. Have to hold your breath for a long time, though.
Sometimes this won't work because it takes too long for it to equalize, or it's just really deep and as the car sinks it takes even longer
You can use your keys to hit the glass and break it too.
How often does a situation like this actually occur?
Why does like every Japanese video have reaction faces on the video? Like on the top right it shows people watching it and their faces.
To show you what face you should be doing.
It would just be easier and quicker to use your elbow.
It would just be easier and quicker to use your elbow.
Yeah if you want broken elbows while you drown I guess
try to break glass like that with your elbow
Hell, try and break it with a hammer. It's designed to not break very easily, but a sharp point in the center of the glass with force behind it will cause the entire thing to shatter
try to break glass like that with your elbow

Yeah if you want broken elbows while you drown I guess
Are you kidding? Maybe if you're built like a stick. Car glass is designed to break easily and in non sharp pieces and your elbow is one of the toughest joint/bone in your body.
Are you kidding? Maybe if you're built like a stick. Car glass is designed to break easily and in non sharp pieces and your elbow is one of the toughest joint/bone in your body.
No, it really isn't. Go break a car window with your elbow, tell me how that works out
Why do all Japanese shows have a small window of people in the audience or whatever close up and vibrant color text with a glow effect protruding around everywhere?
...in the center of the glass with force behind it will cause the entire thing to shatter
Surely the center has the most flexibility of the glass; so it's best to break it near one of the sides?
Surely the center has the most flexibility of the glass; so it's best to break it near one of the sides?
glass really isnt very flexible though, so hitting in the center would be your best bet as far as getting the optimum amount of force goes
Why smash the glass? Why not just roll down the windows.
