He can summon AI bodyguards to fight with him. The shock troopers in the survival mode have red markings to differentiate them.

Probably not but maybe there will be a bug when he does that while jumping between two slanted objects beneath him, gets stuck and spins forever.

Actually players can spawn on him as shock troopers in multiplayer. This is just one of the mission things I guess.
