http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUd_00Xrf_U This guy is awesome.
I think he's a bit silly to be honest. The purpose of your own gun is self defense. Unless he's going to be mowing down a crowd of attackers, then open carrying a pistol would be just fine.
He's making a point.
I'll give him that, but it's still a bit silly.
Not really.
He's making a point.
A point which doesn't need to be made. I'm sure the cops think of him as that luny who carrys assault rifles to his wife's work. The dude is obviously just seeking attention.
It's sort of silly, the way he is demonstrating this. He is obviously begging for attention. Why would he film it if he weren't seeking attention?
The point he's trying to make is my rights as an American are being infringed on daily. Things like this. He is exercising his right to open carry, and he's being challenged on it. Pretty sure cops have better things to do than deal with a guy not doing anything illegal. Why would he disable comments on his video if he were begging for attention?
as a police officer, it's suspicious to see someone just walking around with an assault rifle. that's a fact. but faze is a known gun nut so he's going to defend this video to the grave no matter what points are made

People get nervous over anything.
If he's exercising his right, fuck the people getting nervous. People get nervous over anything.
Isn't this whole "fuck the people" attitude, sort of selfish and self centered? You must be the life of the party if you carry that attitude into other aspects of your character. Just because it is legal doesn't really make you 100% morally in the green, it just makes you an asshole. And couldn't what he is doing been seen as disturbing the peace?
watched the video this guy isn't "making a point," he's just trying to be edgy and begging for attention, plus he's a huge asshole to boot
"Sorry I'm pointing the camera at the ground a lot. I don't wanna show you guys too much and then you'll know where I live." Then half the video is of the side of the cop car that says "Houghton Police". The only Houghton that I know of is the Upper Peninsula (Michigan). It has to be because of their Canadian/Minnesoda-esque accent. "I can open carry, ok eh?" "I know you can open carry, ok?" "Well then don't lecture me, ok?" "I'm going to lecture you, ok? It's my job, ok? Eh?" It's not too heavy, but just enough to notice.
He is exercising his rights, and demonstrating one of our most important rights, the second amendment. I also like the comedic aspect of a man with a gun on his back talking to himself walking on a busy motorway.

Disturbing the peace is an umbrella term for police to use to arrest someone when they have nothing to arrest them for. He wasn't doing anything illegal, and the police admitted this. [editline]10th March 2012[/editline]
i'm sorry but you'd have to be a retard to expect not getting second looks and making everyone around you nervous walking around with an assault rifle. no shit the police is going to stop you.
In theory, they shouldn't stop you.
He is exercising his rights, and demonstrating one of our most important rights, the second amendment.
ok still suspicious
ok still suspicious
So, doing something legal is suspicious?
In theory, they shouldn't stop you.
in theory but in reality, people get shot (surprise) and as a police officer it's their job to make sure the public is safe, and they have to be cautious to make sure of that a police officer isn't allowed to assume anything, they can only act on what they know, and what they know is that there's a man walking down the street with a gun
So, doing something legal is suspicious?
Are you really going to suggest that someone walking down the road with an assault rifle is something that shouldn't cause suspicion?
So, doing something legal is suspicious?
yes you say this like it's odd [editline]10th March 2012[/editline] there's plenty of legal things you can do that are suspicious
Are you really going to suggest that someone walking down the road with an assault rifle is something that shouldn't cause suspicion?
Where open carry is legal, no it shouldn't. If he's not holding the weapon in a threatening manor, he's fine.
The guy in this video in general i find is an asshole who doesn't really fit well with society. This guy clearly doesn't understand the type of world we live in now, where it makes people uncomfortable to see someone carrying an AK47 around on mainstreet. Or this guy clearly just doesn't care, which shows he lacks empathy and compassion to the people around him to some degree. The guy also showed off that he is sort of a biggot, saying people people who disagree with him should "wear pink clothes and put on a fanny pack" So right on you faze, supporting a biggoted asshole on youtube, and showing that you are one your self with the "fuck" other people attitude, stay classy.
i was waiting for something crazy or interesting to happen. all that happened were a bunch of canadian sounding americans having a chat about their working relationship. thanks faze you're a real credit to this section

Fuck this guy, he does this "because he can" and admittedly puts his rights before other people.
it's legal for me to do lots of things. it's legal for me to walk along the sidewalk on my hands and sing old folks songs quietly to myself while i do it but i don't cos i would get weird looks and i'm not sad enough to make a youtube video about the fact people find my perfectly legal activity strange
Oh look, another Gotcha video. Open carry or not, if you're carrying a fucking Ak47, and the police stop you, guess what? They can. If you don't like being questioned about it, don't carry an assault rifle around Open Carry is more or less the same as Concealed Carry, only it puts you in less of a pinch of possibly being arrested for "Brandishing a Firearm" simply because it showed under your shirt tail when you bent over to tie your shoe. I like open carry, because of this fact Open Carry or not, an Ak47 on your back is grounds for probable cause, which police need to do anything anyway
thanks faze you're a real credit to this section
Just like how your comment added so much insight on the issue and sparked feelings and emotions in my mind. A world of uneducated people, ignorant of the law, who are afraid of everything? It may be strange to see, but what is so fucking terrifying of someone walking down the road with a weapon that is holstered (or slung) correctly?
Where open carry is legal, no it shouldn't. If he's not holding the weapon in a threatening manor, he's fine.
Im sure, though I doubt you will admit it, that if you saw someone in the middle of town with an assault rifle it would make you suspicious or uncomfortable.
Just like how your comment added so much insight on the issue and sparked feelings and emotions in my mind.
you must have low standards [editline]10th March 2012[/editline]
but what is so fucking terrifying of someone walking down the road with a weapon that is holstered (or slung) correctly?
phobia's don't have to be logical.
