They're both easy to understand terms, and they both paint the ideal picture of a hardcore leftist, and a hardcore rightist. The entire point of Tumblrism is letting your voice be heard. The more people who hear your voice, the better. Every viral image/video/whatever featuring Tumblrism always involves people trying to make their voices heard, whether it be in volume (shouting, screaming, kicking, crying) or ear-catching words (swearing, insults, derogatory terms) because they know that gets their voices heard. It's like a child conditioned to scream every time it doesn't get it's way, because it knows that it works. Tumblrism is also a thing supported by the general media, since the core message is a positive one (equality) compared to Trumpism (inequality). This makes it easier for people to find instances where people supporting Tumblrism are being batshit crazy. Trumpism does the opposite thing. Since they're generally hated by the public, they go on their conservative forums and read their conservative news, all generally hidden to the general public because they know they're going to get absolutely shat on by the average person when they reveal that they support trump. You'd have to actually use more than 2 whole brain cells to find a Trumpist nutcase, with Tumblrism it only takes 1. That being said, they're not calm reserved intellectuals. A lot of Trumpist youtube channels take the guise of a cool, calm, reserved character who doesn't let emotions get in the way when if you examine the tactics they use, it's incredibly similar to the ones tumblrists do. See, I believe there are a relatively equal amount of batshit left wingers, and batshit right wingers. The only difference is that how much you hear about it.

But obviously it doesn't mean much to the outside world. It's absolutely disgusting that people like Milo used an internal spat in gaming to springboard themselves into the limelight. Now he's here about to tell over 150,000 people that Muslims and Middle Easterners are rapists. Bet nobody ever thought this would be a consequence of GamerGate. I think GG was pretty important in the context of gaming, not outside world, not Donald Trump could become king of America important, but then Donald Trump could become king of America isn't important to gaming. But I ignore GG for the most part, and haven't heard anything of Milo other than that Trigglypuff thing in months. Tbh, nobody cares about GG anymore, I think Milo just built up a fanbase of people who once did.
