Been watching this dude for a while and made a couple of the recipes. 18th century cooking is essentially code for dirt-cheap, awesome, and filling food with panache.
Looks pretty delish, especially considering you're using ingredients that are up to modern sanitary standards.
This channel also has a lot of more saddening storytelling about how colonial soldiers use to be fed in the Revolutionary War.

Wait, what? Is candle even edible?

They are old school candles made of beef tallow.
They also run a store for reproductions and clothes and things.

I've been fans of them since I first got in to history in middle school. I actually have a haversack in my closet that I've had from them since middle school, so what, almost a decade? It's still perfectly fine too. Not to sound like I'm advertising but they're pretty baller.
I like how a lot of these are very similar to the 17th century english cooking methods that I used to do with the sealed knot.
Not a lot really changed other than cooking methods got a bit more complex, those pound cakes are very similar to something we used to make that was kinda between a pancake and a biscuit.

Candle wax traditionally was made from pretty much animal fat, it had no taste to it at all and wasn't exactly filling but it was edible, even most modern candles are but wont recommend it, not all are made from them now.
He looks like an older Liam O'Brien
I ended up discovering this channel a while back through this video.
