I completely forgot about Patriots.

The story focus on domestic terrorism would've been interesting but I definitely don't see them handling it subtly. At least the demo they showed just looked hammy as fuck. ((the deadman's switch thing is a cool idea but i don't like the context its used in))
It sorta upsets me that Patriots never came to full fruition. The whole idea behind it, what with an American militia group going full domestic insurgency and killing bankers/government officials, just felt like a more grounded setup. Sorta a call back too the originals if you will.
the patriots story doesn't matter since the gameplay was going to be a boring call of duty clone
True, but if they took the current Siege gunplay and combined it up with a story about domestic terrorism in the United States, it could definitely make for an interesting game. If I was personally in command of the story, it'd probably be about an economic downturn leading to the rise of several far-left and far-right militia groups which are actively fighting each other for control of slum/squat areas. National Guard is not called in, as their presence would further destabilize the situation, so Team Rainbow is sent to hunt down the people involved with the groups. Later you could have points where Rainbow is helping the DEA/ATF too attack communes used for the manufacture of narcotics and weapons, as well as dealing with the takeover of smaller towns by said groups.

Like the G^MERS video stated from interviews, that was hobbled together because Ubisoft was forcing them to use the already slated for removal Anvil Engine which couldn't handle an FPS. Similar to how EA keeps forcing Bioware to use Frostbite even though from the ground up it wasn't designed with RPGS in mind.
Would like another R6Vegas style game, something about the taking cover/firefights was always so satisfying to me. Still enjoy Siege though, finally got into it recently and I'm in love with it.
