I recently found this old WW2 video. It was mentioned in a book that featured letters written by a British family around 1941 so I decided to look it up.

very interesting stuff
My grandfather took part as a pilot flying a spitfire during the Battle of Britain, and my grandmother was a nurse. I never got to know my grandfather because he passed away before I was even born but I would of loved to hear how he managed to get through that.
I do find it crazy yet somewhat expected that people still carried on with their lives as usual after having spent maybe all night sorting out all the chaos and the fires. I would have though it caused a lot of problems, but yeah people brush it off and carry on. I personally don't think I would have been able to take a single night of shelling without becoming a nervous wreck, let alone every night over a long period of time.
It might of been the morale of people of the time then. I don't think it's changed much over the years, the 7/7 bombings were absolutely horrific, but everyone seemed to have taken it on the chin and just tried to deal with it the best way possible.
