Fixed!
So? Military vehicles have technical faults all the time. I bet the comments section is nothing but "HA RUSSIAN TANKS ARE SO CRAP WE'LL SO BEAT THEM IN WW3! xD"
True enough, but brand new cutting-edge military vehicles probably shouldn't break down during the parade that they're first being shown to the world at. It's not a very good first impression.
You aren't going to think that your new car is very good if it breaks down as you're driving it out of the dealership and neither is anybody else.

I'm pretty certain that someone in some tank unit is yelling at someone else for this fault. You would think that newly fielded pieces, especially ones that are to be prepared for a parade would be inspected almost religiously.
Having a vehicle break down in the middle of a parade, even if it's a rehearsal is going to cause someone to lose a lot of face. The tank is performing in front of generals, commanders, almost every top brass up to Putin along with anybody tuned into the parade, and to have your tank to break down may just make you the laughing stock of the army.
To have that sort of pressure, I would think would be enough for any commander/crew to make sure their shit is on line in the first place.
But then again, shit does happen.
Don't worry comrades, the individuals responsible have already been re-assigned
to the GULAG
Embarassing. The new MBT is being shat on by everyone. I am loosing hope its a good tank.

The tank's alright, it's people who decided to include them in the parade that are dumbasses. This sort of first production is made specifically to be tested and trialled, trialled and tested again and again until every single bit that is faulty is ironed out, replaced and fixed.
It's literally the first shipment that is intended to go through state trials and quality evaluation. And someone somewhere decided "yeah, fuck it, let's go public with it! Let's shit on any hope of ever selling this vehicle to anyone if something expectedly goes wrong!"

True. Btw, does anyone even remember how people were bashing on T-90 release over improved T-80? Also, there is a thread in sensationalist headlines to cover on T-14 topic. just incase.
'IT'S A BETA THEY'LL FIX IT'
New vehicles actually break down more often then old ones. It's partially due to relative lack of field testing and lack of experience in maintaining this particular model, and partially due to the fact that in old vehicles, everything that could have broken already did, and was subsequently replaced.
Next Generation Tiger 2?
What if the point is to make it seem weak?
Little off topic, but why are there still symbols of communism being displayed in the Red Square? Like the hammer and sickle in the video?
Because it's a major part in Russian history and culture?

The only military vehicles we have that are reliable are the old ones. Every time we buy new vehicles they have constant problems as our engineers learn to use them and we work to make them compatible with our procedures. We had one new series of trucks our army bought that couldn't be used for two years until one of our engineers figured out the problem and finally got them to just start, the company that made them even sent officials to learn his fix. What I'm trying to say is that almost every new piece of military equipment has birthing pains and this is true for any military in the world, look at the F-22 raptors.

Yeah see, what he said.
It was a rehearsal, so nothing to see here.
That's what rehearsal's are for. Still a beautiful piece of engineering though.

The T-14 being a fucking master machine is such a load of shit, there is no proof that it is actually amazing just people saying it is.
Looks like fancified t-90 to me with some unmanned turret.

totally different hull, turret, etc
its basically the first MBT that the Russians have put out that significantly deviates from the design of the T-54/55, its unfair to expect that it wouldn't have teething problems.
[editline]13th May 2015[/editline]
Ill be very interested to see more in-depth specs for it whenever those are made public though.
Can anyone explain why it's the "T-14" and not the "T-higher-than-90" or something. Don't quite get the logic behind the model numbering.

Silly me, just realized it's the year.

I know its totally different but nothing about it looks remarkably amazing at all.
Like I said just looks like a t-90 that's been boxified to put it plainly.
