Can't find the totalbiscuit thread so I'll just post this here.
thought this was about garrys new baby for a second
or a game about garry wetting himself [editline]1st October 2013[/editline] oh incident not accident nvm
Tribesmen that can instantly kill you or something, monkeys that throw infinite piles of rocks, and cougar QTE attacks. Plus a Revelations 2013-style arm gauntlet blaster thing or something. Garry's got a really shitty day.
day z: garry's mod???
Can't wait for day 2
the survival genre is such shit lmao aside from games like Don't starve etc
"High Poly Buns" - Totalbiscuit on Aztec buns.
Aw, and I was thinking the story for this game was interesting on the Steam store page, too. A shame the gameplay is so lackluster.
Whoa, bad optimization, instant deaths, and the game actively working against you? This seriously sounds like a game DSP would complain about and actually be true.
It's nice to see Steam has literally zero standards for what makes it into the store.
The weirdest part is that this was voted in over many, many much better games.
The weirdest part is that this was voted in over many, many much better games.
Honestly I gave it a thumbs up because it looked more interesting between the shameless minecraft clones, "Art" games, boring pixel games that could have easily been on newgrounds, etc. It's hard as fuck to find a game on Greenlight not shameless crap or games that could have been on newgrounds as apposed to try to make money off of it.
It doesn't look that bad, it's a shame the gameplay/performance are bad. To contrast with totalbiscuit, that graphics options menu is the absolute best I've ever seen. That's all the shit you find in .ini files, but in game? Sign me up. I don't like digging for the files, but I do like having control over all of those little things.
there's no way this was made in unreal 3 dear god
It's nice to see Steam has literally zero standards for what makes it into the store.
Pretty sure this game was Greenlit. So you can blame the community for that.
the survival genre is such shit lmao aside from games like Don't starve etc
"The survival genre is such shit, except for all these good survival games"
"The survival genre is such shit, except for all these good survival games"
that's because most survival games are shit, but there are a few good gems (in a pile of shit) it's harder to balance because there's so much to balance. You end up either having horrifically impossible to play or easy as fuck.
Going to bump this, but if you try to watch this video you will notice that it has been taken down because of copyright claim by the developers. https://twitter.com/Totalbiscuit Read more about it here..This is just hilarious :v:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/1otqi4/totalbiscuits_wtf_is_day_one_garrys_incident_is/
TotalBOOscuit ‏@Totalbiscuit 3m: Well, cat is out of the bag since someone on Reddit found it. My Day One: Garrys Incident video was copyright flagged by the devs I should point out that this is a game I was sent review code for, it was also the top-ranked video on Youtube for that game. It is fairly obvious what they are doing here, abusing Youtubes copyright system to censor criticism of their product. This happened 2 days ago, we contacted them for an explanation and have heard nothing. Giving them til Monday to respond before goin nuclear It should be pointed out that US Fair Use doctrine exists in particular to protect criticism from being censored in such a way It is a pro-consumer doctrine and with good reason. Maker and Polaris will come down on them like a ton of bricks come Monday. Long story short. Dev sends code, code used to make critique, dev dislikes critique, dev abuses system to censor critique. Its annoying that this had to come out, we were trying to solve it privately, but hey, copyright claims are public viewing on Youtube. If I've seemed a little grumpy over the last few days now you know why. Dev attacks my livelihood for doing my job, silently fuming for days
so does anyone have the original video so i can see what was so bad edit: found one http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x15fmac_wtf-is-day-one-garry-s-incident_videogames
Never laughed so much at a game review before
The weirdest part is that this was voted in over many, many much better games.
People are impatient for DAY Z standalone and will happily eat up whatever shit people are selling (WarZ, Garry's incident, etc)
Excellent, the lead developer showed up in the forum discussions and locked threads talking about removing the total biscuit video.
We protected our copyright because Total Biscuit has no right to make advertising revenues with our license.
Oh boy, this is gonna be good.
We protected our copyright because Total Biscuit has no right to make advertising revenues with our license.
I'd agree if he was doing a Let's Play, and that's all he did. But it was clearly a review and he said it himself. It falls under Fair Use, clear as day TB may be a dick sometimes but there's not many places left to get fair and accurate no bullshit smoke up the ass reviews. There's TB, and Sessler. Those two are the only ones I'll actually take a review from into consideration. The rest I'll play a demo or watch a couple Let's Plays and make up my own mind. Never trust a place that reviews games but also gets money from game publishers. That's my motto
Seriously, Valve should have some system to vote games off their store, this should not be allowed to be sold. I mean, Valve said they want to maintain some kind of standard for their Steam store and i'm pretty sure this game isn't really reaching any standard at all.
