Looks pretty interesting. I'm dying for (another) good Lovecraftian game.
I still have absolutely no idea what kind of game this is.
"Call of Cthulhu is an investigation-horror game with stealth and RPG elements based on Lovecraft's famous universe and developed by Cyanide Studio"

Does this have anything to do with Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth?
If it does I'm pretty stoked. Game had some obvious flaws but the great atmosphere won me over.

I think the "Official Video Game" refers to it being the official video game of the pen and paper RPG.
The voice acting sounds pretty good, but I'm not sure how representative of the whole game it is.

Human patterns relation to natural patterns; civilization > nature?
I don't understand.
This game has my interest, I'm eager for an actual Lovecraft game since Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Bloodbourne which are very lovecraftian in nature.

This is more accurate.
Well, this is yet another game that I'll fire up the toaster for. I just KNOW it's going to be my jam.
The pessimist part of me assumes this'll be an Outlast style game riding on gross factor and jumpscares more than mystery and surreality
God I hope the gameplay isn't too wonky, cus this looks great.
Certainly interested, but honestly I can't say much until I know how the game plays.

Knowing cyanide that wont be the case but knowing cyanide it's probably gonna be a very rough around the edges game.

So was dark corners, still great though
Oh I am looking forward to this.
Looking forward to seeing more on this. It's been a while since we've had a Call of Cthulhu game. Quite a few were cancelled in the past decade, I believe.
Cautiously optimistic.
They are also apparently working on a Werewolf: The Apocalypse game now too.

No, absolutely nothing, that studio was shut down long ago, not even the publisher(Bethesda published DCOTE) is the same for this one. And to put some salt on your wounds, the studio was actively working on a sequel when it was shut down, and other games were planned too, but Bethesda fucked them over and they couldn't find a new publisher. Such a shame.
I kind of wish people would stop trying to make ~~LOVECRAFTIAN~~ games. Lovecraft's work does not translate well into video game format, it never has and it never will.
The mythos itself is interesting in its own right but games have done it a massive disservice by being about as subtle as a smoke detector taped to a loudspeaker.
So a lot of the YouTube comments are "I hope it's not a walking simulator", and I can understand that point of view.
But, personally, I would be absolutely fine if this were a walking simulator.
The chance to just navigate the Cthulu mythos, in fully rendered glory, excites me.

it can be.
You just have to think outside the box, and really try for it.

I agree, I never expected the Cosmic Horror themes of Lovecraft to ever work in an action game.
[sp]And yet Bloodborne exists and is probably my favourite game of all time.[/sp]
It's all a matter of how well it's pulled off.

If you own Crysis 1 check out The Worry of Newport.

the action shooty parts from the other call of Cthulhu game were the worst parts, everything before getting a gun was really tense and great but it fell apart after that.
if anything, it should be a walking sim/puzzle hybrid

Even if it turns out as mechanically complex as the second act of "Dark Corners of the Earth" (generic FPS with some elements of Lovecraft smashed in)? I will be pleased.
And even then, I can't think of any other examples of true ~~~~LOVECRAFTIAN~~~~ games, good or bad, that tried to do it right.
