maxofs2d you're allowed this time Contrary to the last video i posted where people expected a shitstorm and were pleasantly surprised, you will expect a shitstorm coming in here and probably find one. Try to keep it civil
Is this true for the hardcore feminism you would find on Tumblr? Maybe. But for regular, normal, not rivers of shit streaming from the mouth, kind of Feminism that has been around for about 100 years? The kind that has been doing REAL progress for women's rights, and not just complaining about a character in a fictional video game? Not at all.
wtf. a person says "okay feminism is about equality for people" and his response is just "no it's not. YOU people ALL say this but you ALL hate men AND women ALL OF YOU" why is he speaking for millions of people, summarising an entire sociological ideology that has histories of massive in-fighting and disagreement? where are his sources? tumblr? what a fucking dumbass

There are other videos more in need of picking apart and debunking. This is just gross. He said the pay gap and rape culture don't exist.
Any video that attempts to generalize the ideals of feminism is always 100% wrong lmao It's like trying to attack "Democracy" or "communism" like they're always implemented the exact same way every time. They're nebulous clouds of belief. It's like trying to take down a cloud with a flyswatter.

Buddytheuser, perhaps instead of simply using the ratings system, you state your opinion on the matter so productive discussion can be done and perhaps everyone can learn a thing or two?
Shit like this only applies to the feminists that still believe in the existence of a patriarchy caused pay gap, or the patriarchy itself. [editline]oops[/editline] That is to say, idiotic feminists that are borderline paranoid schizophrenics.
Last time this was posted the thread got closed. It shows that FP can't handle any debate topic it seems. But honestly I hope this one is closed too.

It's obviously not a secret cabal of dudes in a round table underground making decisions against women, but it is a worldwide pro-man bias in most aspect of Western culture (and by extension, due to colonialism, world culture) No one believes in a secret society of misogynists, no one ever did. keep in mind modern feminism is generally America-centric, where societal problems are much more blatantly obvious and wayyyy behind a lot of Europe.
How many videos of men being wrong about feminism do people post on this forum?
How many videos of men being wrong about feminism do people post on this forum?
A fucking lot.
How many videos of men being wrong about feminism do people post on this forum?
Its like people try to cause shitstorms by posting the latest The Amazing Atheist or Feminist Frequency vid.
Next time you wanna post about feminism just open up a nice brew and watching some cute anime girls doing stuff: There are no gender roles or patriarchy in the warm embrace of an adolescent cartoon.

a shitstorm only happens when one side actually agrees with this video, but anyone who's insane enough to think that this angry moron's angry hatespeech is legit is either banned from this forum or in jail
that's pretty true still, going by my standards at least. It's obviously not a secret cabal of dudes in a round table underground making decisions against women, but it is a worldwide pro-man bias in most aspect of Western culture (and by extension, due to colonialism, world culture)
These loose definitions are bullshit. If the western society was a real patriarchy, women wouldn't be able to hold any power. But if you look at http://www.ipu.org/wmn-e/classif.htm you would see that countries with western countries have a high percentage of females in the government: Sweden 45.0%, Finland 42.5%, South Africa 40.8%, Iceland 39.7%, Spain 39.7%, Norway 39.6%, Belgium 39.3%, Denmark 39.1%, Netherlands 38.7%, Argentina 36.6%, Germany 36.5%, New Zealand 33.9%, Costa Rica 33.3%, Slovenia 33.3%, Austria 32.2%, Italy 31.4%, etc,etc,etc... Just look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_government No one is holding women back to go into politics. No one is telling women that they can't go into politics. A patriarchy would never allow a female presidential candidate or even a female leader. A patriarchy would never allow women to become a CEO of a company. Where are all these invisible barriers that hold women down? Ok we get it you are mad about being le freindzoned :(
"Patriarchal structure assigns gender roles" - is that what they teach in gender studies?
that's pretty true still, going by my standards at least.
What the fuck. Colonialism and Western culture has absolutely nothing to do with patriarchal societies in the world. Most places where such social structure is observed, it exists for much, much longer than European colonialism. It is not European invention.

So, Saudi Arabia then. Because last time I checked, women aren't specifically excluded from power in society or government in the West.
Buddytheuser, perhaps instead of simply using the ratings system, you state your opinion on the matter so productive discussion can be done and perhaps everyone can learn a thing or two?
Isn't excessive rating spam bannable?
actual facts
No no no, you don't understand. Because the numbers aren't at the very least completely even, it's a patriarchy. Yes, I understand that's not the definition of a patriarchy, and yes I know that first world governments have no restrictions on women in political positions of power; and the only thing holding back women in politics being the exact same thing that holds back men (voters) but that doesn't matter. What matters is I am ignoring the definition of patriarchy set by heterosexual white men and am instead going by my own.

my favorite part about these videos is how super condescending they are. like, at around 4 minutes or so he's talking about sexual dimorphism and goes "well if you wanna pull down your SJW blindfolds...." then not even a minute later he responds to the girl's video and goes "feminism being about women only is a reasonable conclusion because whenever internet feminists do.... anecdote that makes my argument look good...." i could go on for ages quoting individual cases of him being a whiny baby but it'd take hours. also he just flat out denied that rape culture exists which is hilarious and terrible and is a telltale sign that the rest of his points will be flawed. like, if you want to honestly make a video to educate people about the faults of modern feminism, AND if you're really trying to be the better person in an argument, you shouldn't insult people or use the same garbage responses over and over again. not once in the video does he go "alright, let's look at their side of the argument;" he only cites other opinions to laugh at how wrong they are and just because the ~other side~ is being mean and using bad words doesn't mean you can just ignore the behavioral skills you learned in kindergarten.
Why not just abandon feminism and classify yourself as a gender equalist? No one can misconstrue what that entails.
Why not just abandon feminism and classify yourself as a gender equalist? No one can misconstrue what that entails.
because feminist = gender equalist. there's no need to migrate, at all, you're both. the fact that feminist is now being seen as a bad word (at least on niche parts of the internet) is an issue. dropping a title with over a hundred years of super progressive history behind it is dumb as heck and won't achieve anything. if you have a feminist mindset, you're a feminist even if you don't call yourself one, sorry. the same type of progress will probably go on in society, sure, but being petty doesn't help at all. if this trend of abandoning the title of "feminist" becomes a thing, what's going to be next inevitable leap? "person striving for the rights of those who have slight differences between each other either physically and/or mentally based on their preferred gender?" "everyone person lover?" "me like not hate fanclub member?" i mean if you are honestly so upset by tumblr feminists or that one red haired lady that thunderfoot has an entire effigy dedicated to in his closet that you'd drop a title, you might as well stop labeling yourself anything at all because every group you're a part of will always have morons.

These aren't exactly isolated incidents and there needs to be a movement to separate these sorts of people who honestly believe in gender equality from the crazies. Unless you're some huge fucking sexist asshole, I think everyone believes in equality but my problem is, feminism is ambiguous. The crazies are trying to twist and turn the definition into something it isn't and because they're labeled feminists, no one wants to associate with the title because there's so many and they're voicing their opinions louder and faster than anyone else. Even you have to admit that the feminist movement's image has been tarnished in the past three or four years.
