I thought Cloverfield was okay and I really enjoyed Super 8. Hoping this is good.
I wonder why he bothered putting it in the same universe. Seems like most of it took place in the shelter, and the only big thing about the original was the monster.

March? Pretty amazing that they were able to keep it a secret for this long.

The Cloverfield monster wasn't the only creature in the first movie.
This dude saw a test screening of it back in November, no spoilers: https://mobile.twitter.com/CharlesLandy/status/687881494048583680
The original Cloverfield trailer only showed scenes from the opening party scene, hopefully its a similar tactic here.
Oh I didn't know that. That's awesome if that's the case.
March? Pretty amazing that they were able to keep it a secret for this long.
they filmed it under the name valencia
The original Cloverfield trailer didn't even show the title for the movie, only the release date. 1-18-08. I remember finding the marketing for that movie to be really interesting.
I was hyped as fuck when it came out because of the marketing. That and I love monster movies
Looks pretty intersting. Happy they have more to the characters
Wonder if big mommas gonna make an appearance? The monster in the first movie was just a baby :smug:
Wonder if big mommas gonna make an appearance? The monster in the first movie was just a baby :smug:
There was only ever one Clover, no mother involved.
There was only ever one Clover, no mother involved.
His point is the Clover we know is a baby. That means there's a mother somewhere, and that leaves potential for the future. I don't know if this takes place at the same time as Cloverfield or not, so anything is really possible
The original cloverfield movie was an overhyped shit show. Similar to Lost, except that Lost actually had potential. I had friends at the time who were going totally nuts about cloverfield and we went and saw it--poorly filmed/directed "found footage" yawnfest where the dangling carrot is to be able to see some boring uninteresting monster. Bad movie. About as bad as The Blair Witch Project. I did enjoy Super 8 though.
so basic premise of the story is everyone is trapped in a bunker with tim schaffer
This Twitter seems to have poofed. Anyone got a backup or a summary?
It basically said "No spoilers, but if you're expecting a Cloverfield follow-up, don't." and that he liked the movie. He also said that it was still titled Valencia when he saw it and that he didn't notice any direct connections to Cloverfield, and there is a rumor that the movie was retooled to be a Cloverfield sidequel.

Her captor, a doomsday prepper, tells her he saved her life and that there has been a terrible chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable. She does not know what to believe and as tensions rise, she decides she must escape, regardless of the terrors that await outside.” We know that after the nuke went off the monster survived, based on the post credit audio in Cloverfield. To me it seems like that Goodman saved the girl from her car accident prior to the monster attack. Once the attack began there was no way to get help from the outside so he took care of her. Edit: Also, J.J. Said its a "blood relative" which I suspect could mean the monster won't be the main focus, but that the parasites will be the main focal point. Since the nuke maybe they've mutated or evolved.
I don't know how people can shit on Cloverfield then with a straight face say Super 8 was good.
Some post I saw on reddit concerning this,
Sounds like a shit tie-in tbqh
I don't know how people can shit on Cloverfield then with a straight face say Super 8 was good.
I enjoyed them both tbh. I definitely enjoyed Cloverfield more though. The whole viral marketing campaign leading up to it was one of most fun times I've had on the Internet.
Nice to see John Goodman in this, he seems like he plays a good part.
He pressed 4 8 3 but the jukebox shows he pressed 4 8 1 3 Bad editing shit movie will not watch
He pressed 4 8 3 but the jukebox shows he pressed 4 8 1 3 Bad editing shit movie will not watch
If the viral marketing campaign is anything like the last Cloverfield I'm writing all of this shit down.
