20$ for california and when it comes, nevada and arizona. the rest of the states will most likely be dlc based (They hope to hit the east coast).
Think we can drive to Area 51?
Are the levels up to scale?
I don't understand how someone can genuinely enjoy this type of game. It's really cool that they've made an entire faux California, but I don't get it.

I went into the game thinking the same.
Brutalmoose did too, and now he has like hundreds of hours in it.
Generally people that enjoy driving/would enjoy driving, will love this game. And there's the whole company management thing.
It's relaxing.
It would be fun to do a cross country drive

Truck simulator is almost a zen-like experience, I pretty much forget about everything when I'm playing it. Brew some tea, sit back, and enjoy the ride.
I remember playing with a keyboard but now, since I have a 360 pad, that's good enough for me.
I've played 18 Wheels of Steel back in the day on my machine that had a Pentium IV, with Intel Extreme Graphics 2. While everyone was playing the latest games on PC, I played these type of games.
Shit gets intense in the cities when you are trying to cut through several cars trying to make the delivery on time and then you hit a cop car.

I remember playing that at an arcade, shame the machine didn't give you tickets at all for some reason.

Can I go to a truck stop and get blowjobs? Or pick up hitchhikers in exchange for road head?

All though I haven't played many of these games in a while, when I do play things like ARMA 3 Altis Life, I always find myself driving cargo along dark highways, listening to the radio, and sometimes I grab some resources while doing my cargo routes...
It just feels simple. Sometimes it's stressful, but most of the time you feel right at home.

Now Europeans can enjoy the time honored American tradition of driving for hours with no civilization on straight highways.
I dont know if its just me but the guy doing the narrating sounds like the VA of Cooper from Arma.

Or on the weekends in my case, a DUI simulator. I'm still in the midst of a delivery I left parked on the highway with half of the goods I'm carrying damaged. I just don't feel like going back and finishing it just to break even. :v:
Should've made a Russian Truck Simulator.
Then there would be extra gameplay elements such as roads made entirely out of mud, and highway bandits

You would also have dynamic environmental hazards.

There are mods for Euro Truck that add Russia and a bunch of the Nordic countries and rural roads, dirt roads and regional truck variations are part of it.
I bought Euro Truck when I saw the thread for it on FP and figured it was like a joke purchase on my part but than I ended up buying a wheel and everything just for it. American Truck Sim is my main reason for wanting to get an Oculous or Vive.
want to get the north east so i can get some of that mountain trucking in maine
After seeing that video in JoeSkylynx' post, I'm a bit turned off. I put a hundred hours into ETS2 but I was hoping for more new features in this one. I think I'll wait for a sale.

It's kind of impossible for them to be. Otherwise each job would take like a day of sitting infront of the computer.

I did that on flight simulator once. Nine hours from Hong Kong to Calgary.

penn and teller actually said they would be releasing a new version of desert bus for the rift when it came out
Should I get a wheel set for these type of games? I mean I've wanted to get one for forza for a long time but if ya guys do suggest it then I'll grab one as soon as I can.
