I spent a few weeks getting through this game with a friend a few years ago. It took us a while to get past the bubble jumping level but it is possible.
The worst thing is we spent days and days getting past the final boss, and then the game just goes ahead and chucks you back into another random previous stage anyway to carry on playing!

To be honest, this is how everyone who has played Bubble Bobble feels.
It is a really good game.
I have very fond memories of playing it all the time on a Sega Game Gear.
Never played much Bubble Bobble, just the impressive Ti-83+ version.
Loved the Puzzle Bobble spin off.
Bubble Bobble was my favourite game on the Amiga Commodore.
My sister loves bubble bobble to death, she used to make me play it with her all the time and still plays it
Speaking of Bubble Bobble, I'm surprised that I haven't seen or heard of many ripoffs for Android or iOS. You'd think the Chinese would be all over that stuff considering their disrespect for copyright and IP over there.
