Did you film this? Anyhow, isn't that a little too much for a "Shut up"? Or did more things happen before the event?
Did you film this? Anyhow, isn't that a little too much for a "Shut up"? Or did more things happen before the event?
Regardless of what he said, that's still fucked.
All his friends could do was watch, because he was a cop. :eng99:
You don't beat a guy while he is on the ground, come on if you think this isn't serious you've got some issues. Cop will definitely lose his job.
Where was this?
Where was this?
ST. LOUIS, MO —Controversy has erupted over YouTube video that appears to show a St. Louis police officer beating man with a nightstick then pepper spraying him outside a south city gas station. Fox 2 was the first to tell police about the video-now an internal police investigation is underway. The man who says he took the video calls what took place a beating and says police used excessive force. But the owner of Joel's Shell Food Mart at I-55 and Arsenal in south city says the force was justified because the officer was trying to subdue a man who was intoxicated. The video shot on a cell phone about 2:30 on New Years Day morning. It shows a city officer pulling the man out of a car, then repeatedly hitting him with a collapsible baton. He hits the man seven times. Then, the officer appears to pepper spray the man before taking him away in handcuffs. A 23 year old from Kirkwood took the video. He does not want to be identified but says he does now know the man or the officer. He says the man told the officer to shut up and that sparked the entire episode. "I have to say police used excessive force in this definitely. It was unnecessary, the kid never moved whenever he hit the ground so there was no reason for him to get hit that many times or pepper sprayed," said the man who shot the cell phone video. But the gas station owner, Joel Platke, says the officer did what he had to. Platke wasn't there when the incident happened but two of his employees who were told him what they witnessed. Platke tells us the officer first asked the man to leave the store because he was drunk. Then, he says the man's friends came in asking the officer to help them because the man was causing problems outside. Platke says the officer was off duty at the time and working security at the gas station and convience store. Platke tells us the officer hit the man on his hands and arms and maced him because the man had his arms wrapped around the officer's ankles and wouldn't let go. "He needs to be protected because you don't know what someone that inebriated is capable of. There are a lot of guys that get hurt he was protecting himself and he had every right to," said Platke. St. Louis police released a statement calling the video "extremely disturbing''.

Yeah disregard my previous post. I am however curious what happened before the beating.
I love how these days you have to fear the police.
Sure, hit the shit out of the guy for no reason, and even when he's not moving at all, you spray him with pepper spray. Fucking shitty worthless cops.
Too lenient, police brutality deserves a jail sentence.
I agree. Attacking a police officer should be punished more severe than attacking a civilian but when a cop does this it actually damages peoples faith in the police department and should therefore be punished more severe also.
What the fuck, the guy didn't even do anything.
That's pretty fucked up.
That makes me want to beat that cop up, not that I could.
Wouldn't one of the civilians have the right to speak up and if need be, perform a citizens arrest on that cop? As stupid as it sounds, that was extremely over-excessive and if that was my friend, I couldn't just stand there and watch that.
Row row fight the powah ITT Looking at the video, I'm not too sure what started before hand to make the supposed "Rent-a-cop" do such a thing, either than the shut up from said kid. What he did was not needed, the suspect seemed compliant. Then again I don't know what happened before this, he could of thrown something, did something to the cop, or something that wasn't caught on tape. They were all just standing outside of their car? Only takes one person to get gas, maybe the second one go gets munchies? I cannot assume that the person stole something, or did something cause I do not know, I wasn't there. Justified? Maybe. Too much force? Dependable, but in this limited video, yes.
I've been pepper sprayed. It hurts like a bitch. Imagine there is a layer of sand covering your whole eye and someone squeezes their thumbs into your eyes. Every time I hear about someone getting pepper sprayed, I feel bad. It's something I would never wish for someone to endure. I know cops that say the same thing and the hate having to use it on someone.
I would call the cops owait.
Just for a shutup this man beats the living shit out of some one and he can get away with it because hes a cop just makes me angry
Fuk Da POLEECE
Just for a shutup this man beats the living shit out of some one and he can get away with it because hes a cop just makes me angry
Every other week I hear cases of police brutality but I never hear about cops getting more than 5 years for ANYTHING.
I hope the cop loses his badge forever. There is no excuse to do such a thing.
:ohdear:
Why did he do it anyway? How did the man getting beaten piss the police off so badly?
He said shut up.
He said shut up.
Wow. Talk about over-reacting.
This is why people hate cops.
