Just like to point out that the extreme delays is caused by the author playing idol video games instead of his job.

The money comes from him selling copies of the volumes or issues in Japan and America? I really need to complete the Band of Hawk Arc.
Death of a Berserk-related meme.
I've heard good things about Berserk but I never paid any attention to it... There's an anime of it right? Is that worth watching?

(You should watch them though if you're interested, they're pretty decent)

The anime is unbearably bad. Couldn't get through EP1 because it was of such bad quality, and it didn't seem to follow the real story at all and just made shit up. The 3D animated movies are pretty cool, and follow the early parts of the manga somewhat precisely, while having really nice fight scenes and attention to detail in weapons & armor due to being 3D animated.
When I had heard last week or so my heart fluttered. Took long enough.

Movies didn't have enough Susumu Hirasawa.
Personally I think the anime fixes some problems in the first manga arc with story pacing. I've only read up to volume 11, but there are some moments in the manga that tend to get caught up in a sudden fight scene or rival/bigbad introduction. It's unfortunate then that it only covers the first arc. Haven't watched the movies and honestly at this point I'd just stick with the manga, some of the stuff in it you just can't legally show on screen.

Should probably put my grasses on and get to it.

when are new movies coming out
when are new movies coming out
Probably never because the movies didn't do great in theaters.
From my experience: The manga really is the definitive version (as you would expect). It doesn't hold any punches, and of course it's the only one that currently goes further than the first arc. Also, as previously mentioned, the artwork is really impressive. The anime doesn't have terribly impressive animation, and because of the restrictions on what they could get away with showing on television, the violence is generally toned down or censored and several parts of the manga are cut (though to be honest a lot of the things that were cut I think the Golden Age arc and it's pacing are actually better off without, I.E. rape gorilla and everything to do with him). It also only covers the first arc (which is, to be fair, BY FAR the best). It's soundtrack, however, totally sells it. It's actually so good that I'm almost tempted to recommend watching the anime first simply on the basis of it's soundtrack existing. Whenever Guts, Behelit, Earth etc. come on, it immediately sets the tone, and creates a huge amount of atmosphere. I really wish there was a way that you could read the manga and have the appropriate song from the anime's soundtrack come on at the right time. If you're going to watch the movies, I would generally recommend you do it last. They're fun to watch after you're already familiar with Golden Age because a lot of the fight scenes are cool as fuck, and there are a bunch of little cameos from later in the story that are kinda nice. The problem is that they simply cut and change too much, it's really not even close to the experience you get from reading the manga or watching the anime.
Literally only reason to watch the movies is because jap skull knight is voiced by jap big boss' voice actor. I have the art book of the movies and it's a shame seeing how fucking impressive the hand-drawn segments are only to have them use excessive 3d for most of the movies. I'm tipping we wont see another anime adaptation for quite some time given the manga doesn't look like it'll be stopping any time soon. They sure as shit better get the composer of the anime OST back that was beyond perfect.
Probably never because the movies didn't do great in theaters.
and the studio that made them went bust iirc
I though the movies did a great job with [sp]the Eclipse[/sp]
Wait, they got off the boat?! Holy shit, its been like, five years?
Probably never because the movies didn't do great in theaters.
they have Berserk pachinko instead,. [editline]3rd December 2015[/editline] also read somewhere the studio making it is working on Harmony first ( some, anime move,.? )
Wait, they got off the boat?! Holy shit, its been like, five years?
Over 7 actually.
it's his own work. He can take as many breaks as he wants really. Until he's broke or doesn't have anyone interested in Berserk anymore.
Sounds to me like you're an idolm@ster apologist.
I'd actually recommend watching the Berserk anime first then reading the manga. You get a pretty quick introduction and if you like it then heyhey, if not, then whatever. Secondly, the anime isn't bad, but you'll probably like it more if you didn't already read the manga. The animation isn't the greatest but it's not as overly noticeable or gross like Attack on Titan. [editline]3rd December 2015[/editline] Just watch it to get the gloss and then read it to see all the neat details in between.
