the more shitty cars I see the more hyped I become
the more shitty cars I see the more hyped I become
That's pretty much the only thing I watch Top Gear/The Grand Tour for anymore. I hope they do more classic style stuff in this new season. None of the challenges in the last season felt particularly genuine, everything seemed quite forced and very obviously scripted.
I hope they do away with the celebrities dying gag like how many more can they kill?
I hope it’s less forcibly scripted this time. I still can’t get over the clarkson getting ass raped by terrorists “joke” from season one.
I hope they do away with the celebrities dying gag like how many more can they kill?
Honestly I'd rather have that than have a good 15 minute interview segment about someone I don't know anything about. That's the goof anyway, the interviews were quite obviously the least liked part of TG so this is the way out of it.
Been watching the first season just recently. It's plagued by a lot of what ruined the last few seasons of Top Gear for me, i.e. painful scripting, 'acting', tedious recycles jokes and, maybe worst of all, the needless destruction of some really nice and rare cars. There's a Jaguar Mark X getting thrashed around in this trailer so I don't have high hopes. I'll still probably watch it anyway.

I watched the first episode of GT and it was alright, but I've not watched any of the other episodes. What was everyone's opinion of GT Season 1? Is it worth watching?

That and the beautiful "driving in perfect landscapes in perfect weather" shots. Maybe i'm their target audience. A buffoon who knows nothing about cars and just watches to enjoy the heightened framework of carnage and idiocy. The budget is obviously invested in going to a new country each episode with new cars and new vistas. For a guy like me, who only ever really cared about the travel specials in TG, this format is nearly perfect and they stuck with it except some minor changes along the way.
I watched the first episode of GT and it was alright, but I've not watched any of the other episodes. What was everyone's opinion of GT Season 1? Is it worth watching?
Some were, some weren't. 4 is great cause shitty self-built cars 7 and 8 are great cause shitty self-built cars 9 was ok cause like, only one shitty self-built car 11 was p cool cause unreliable cars doing unreliable things Kinda sensing a trend here. Grand Tour is IMMENSELY boring when they're in supercars or even somewhat above average cars. It's immensely boring when they're just talking about cars while not doing anything. The "3 old men in cars" format only works for me when they're in entirely inappropriate locations with entirely inappropriate cars that were bought for anywhere between 500 and 2000 pounds.
I personally enjoyed it but the 2nd episode is just an hour of why? It sucks so much and is not enjoyable in any way.
It sucked so much it actually made me stop watching the rest of the show cold turkey. It was that bad.
I don't even know why they included it. It was like when in the later seasons of Pimp My Ride, it stopped being about modifying cars and it became WCC doing comedy skits and trying to break out into acting
GT season 1 was a mixed bag but fuck it man i loved the shit out of it since there is nothing like it. If you are curious just watch it anyway. Really hyped for s2
Honestly can't wait at all. First season was rough, but I'm hoping they have started to tune into their swing. I still enjoy the supercar amazing speed things as i have a slight interest in this as well. Mind you apparently they cut some fat on production and segments. "the american" and "celeb brain crash" are apparently gone annnd the tent now sits in the UK as taking it around the world was a massive pain in the ass apparently. Also Hey BC Canada at the start I think! Some friends of mine spotted Richard in Whistler a few months back.
[t]https://puu.sh/ycQJl/d69f8f7247.jpg[/t] That poor mark 10 :saddowns: They only made about 10,000 of those, they're extremely rare today and I want one desperately. just to destroy one like that is not cool.
w-what
Episode 2 had them running through a special forces training course where if they "died" they had to redo the whole thing. The problem is, redoing the course was just them replaying the footage and the whole thing was very obviously scripted.
In the Lake District, Clarkson has [sp]broken a water speed record in a three wheeled Bond Bug car.[/sp] Looking forward to it :v:
One of the best parts of the first season for me was the African dune buggy trip, as scripted as it may have been (the 'the water's gonna get us' bit where there was plenty of room on the shore etc), it was still gorgeous.
