Speaking of Wizard of Oz, was there an actual sequel? And does Oz the Great and Powerful continue from the first or is it a prequel?
Oz The Great and Powerful was a prequel, basically dealing with Oz's rise to power.
I'm sure there have been attempts at sequels, but I really wouldn't count on making a book-based sequel in any way. The plot patterns of those sequels are extremely similar.
