It's been an issue for a [URL="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfgoDDh4kE0&index=4&list=PLEl4TsWotX6Eu6tn1hOr6kIiEZ3xTfyvl"]long time now.[/URL] It keeps getting [URL="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-O7WANBW_Y"]worse[/URL].

I think something is INCREDIBLY wrong when his last video got tagged for A MOMENT of splatoon TRAILER footage. Then his video bitching about it gets tagged within the same time span.
Whether you like Jim or not, one thing is for certain. This whole situation is fucked and needs to get UNFUCKED real fast.
And it seems Jim was lucky, TFS and several others got nuked from orbit recently did they not?

TFS was able to bring their channel back, but therein lies the problem- only big channels who make noise can have the chance to get shit resolved, the smaller ones get screwed because no one was there to defend them. Youtube needs to treat EVERY ONE fairly, not just the moneymakers.
At least I imagine my channel will hopefully be safe. It's so small, if it did disappear though it'd probably be unnoticed.
The copyright system on YouTube has been broken for years, I remember uploading a video in 2009 and having to call them and not being able to get the issue solved. They're too cheap to hire people to actually fix the issue and review the issues, everything at Google has to be automated.

He's big on Youtube, and he also has a lot of viewers too. (I stole this joke from him, sorry Jim)
The best part is that he's funded by Patreon so he can keep doing cheeky stuff like putting entire songs in his videos and it won't hurt him at all if he gets ContentID'd. So expect more attention to this issue in the future.

like, i bought the music from some royalty free site, and the terms are i'm allowed to upload it, and it was striked
i can understand why they have an automated system, but its so ass it probably hasnt saved them any time at all because they have to look over all the fuckups anyways

I wonder who would even be able to make a competent competitor to youtube
unless facebook buys DM/Vimeo out and uses their typical excellent business practice of funding and not fucking over, or microsoft/amazon/ etc or similar try and do the same, there isn't really anyone that could. Vimeo and DM atm sure as hell aren't big enough without being bought out.
Of course, facebook itself would be a terrible youtube competitor.
