I don't get it. :sax:
From what I gather (on a meta level) Guy animates a simple story, it SUPER blows up and a lot of people demand he makes more/tells a story with the characters and... now he's trying to do that :v: For now I'm in the same boat but hey at least the music is catchy and the animation isn't bad so it's still fun to just kinda watch.
I'm glad to see this "series" continue, but I wasn't feeling the animation or song in this one like the first one.
Eh. Not as good as the first one imo
I'm glad to see this "series" continue, but I wasn't feeling the animation or song in this one like the first one.
I have a strong feeling that he cut back on a lot of details to get it out somewhat quicker. I was under the impression the first one was supposed to be a one off before it blew up so he put more time into all the details and the like. Now that people expect sequels and a story he'd obviously have to cut back a bit as he is just one guy. General response seems to be the same across the board though that it's not as good as the first one and Big Dumb American's post :v:v
The characters give a fighting game kind of vibe. Tune is excellent.
Eh this one felt very short. Just as the song and the video was getting good, it all kinda stops. I am kinda glad it didn't end on such a fucking downer note like the first one did. [editline]16th April 2016[/editline] Animations are great as usual. Man that guy has talent.
I don't understand what I just watched.
Really cool but yeah, doesn't have nearly the impact as the original. I look forward to seeing what little hidden things people find.
What's with the heads bobbing every second? I also do not get this.

It was way too slow-paced. That's my main gripe. The first was zippy and funny and beautiful to look at.
There's something really uncannily familiar about the artstyle, like I've seen it before somewhere else.
Can't wait for all the avatars this will inevitably spawn.
I fucking love Lewis. I love his design a lot. Pretty much the only reason I liked this tbh, otherwise it was really unsatisfying for something that came out a year later from the original.
It probably would have been better if the animator didn't try and connect these up and instead went with a new concept/story for each one. The animation didn't really fit in with the music at all like the original. If it had to have kept the storyline then cutting out the new character/scenes would have made room for better pacing. 0:05 - 2:00 (half of the video) is focused on a character that seems a bit anachronistic to the previous video and really isn't that easy to read (expression/motivation wise).
I think the story for this one is that this Spriggan thing is searching for some "being of incredible power" (that being the dog/kitsune) and has tracked it down to the cave from the first video. However the only essence she finds there is that of purple Skull guy, so she uses her flower magic to track him down. This leads her to the discarded heart, which probably contains the ghost of Purple Guy. She spawns another bunch of flowers corresponding to the ones of the characters that have recently been in contact with this heart, but decides that none of them are powerful enough. Then she finally gets a flower of the kitsune dog, and before Skull guy can beat the shit out of her, she blows the petals away, leading her to her target. You can briefly see her behind the dog as a shadowy figure when it cuts to the Mystery Skulls van. Purple skull guy is still pissed at yellow for killing him of course, and thus he goes out to find the blue girl. I predict that he'll probably save them from the Spriggan in the next video.
This video isn't paced the best, but that doesn't really bug me. Technically, it's a step up from the previous and you can tell there's a higher production value. All in all, it's really inspiring to me to see this guy create this universe mostly by himself. I think the major reason why this one took so long to produce was creating the puppets. Now that they're all set up, I think we can expect to see this storyline take off a little more in the coming years (months??)
No idea what's going on in the Van though. Why did yellow suddenly freak out? Edit: My merge
I'll never get over the fact that the dog is a self insert pony

Originally it's a simple love triangle where one lives with the guilt of being possessed into murdering the other. This animation takes it from that to DBZ power-level hunting.
I'll never get over the fact that the dog is a self insert pony
Might make things worse if you think about Doom64Hunter's post.
What's with the heads bobbing every second? I also do not get this.
It's a music video. They're bobbing to the music.
I'm sorry but all I saw was DeviantArt: The Video
The animation is nice and all, but it doesn't have the heart of the original. I hope this doesn't end badly. Also I REALLY wish I could unlearn the "dog is actually self-insert pony OC" thing, it makes the kitsune thing even stupider
I'll never get over the fact that the dog is a self insert pony
god why
Why are they making this a series? The original was fine and ended well. Also I really wish this was finished: But I assume this one (Freaking Out) and Ghost are official because I heard the one above couldn't be completed due to legal reasons.
But I assume this one (Freaking Out) and Ghost are official because I heard the one above couldn't be completed due to legal reasons.
Ben i believe was allowed to make an official music video for them after the band personally reaching out to him due to the popularity and feedback one of his earlier videos got that also used a Mystery Skulls song. for the fucking life of me though I wish this song would come up on Pandora.
I'll never get over the fact that the dog is a self insert pony
Can't wait for a repeat of the thread for the original video :v:
The story conveyed was too complex for the format, I think. Can't really tell what's happening unless I re-watch it a couple of times while analyzing the details. I think that was intended though. With as much hype for this as there was, it's best to create something that has depth for delving into.
