Since the weather here is pretty shitty there isn't much to talk about because it almost never rains. But almost every year right before "monsoon season" (I have no idea why they call it "season" because it only lasts about a week and we never get more than 6 inches) a massive dust storm rolls through and this year was easily the biggest one I've seen, it was reportedly over 3000 feet high and about 60-70 miles long so it blanketed pretty much the entire Pheonix metropolitan area. Anywa's its been the most interesting weather we've had all year so I figured I'd share it.
I had a bit of lightning and whatnot, but WOW. That's intense.

i was in town on the strip
it was by far nowhere near as intense as op's content, but yeah
I was at work when it rolled in, shit was intense, our doors were trying to blow open and dust was everywhere in the shop.
When it was all over, and my shift was up I went out to my car to see there was a good thick layer of dust coating absolutely EVERYTHING, and the wind had blown down a sizable tree across the road.
I mean, we get dust storms once and a while, but this one was massive for sure and it lasted for quite some time.

I lived in New Mexico for 9 years and never got stuff like this. The only memorable weather was our "monsoon season" and the wind would pick up all the mud and slap it around everywhere. My entire house was caked in it.
Oh and one time there was a dust devil coming down my street straight for my house and I was trying to close the garage door (It was automatic by pressing a button) it went so slowly and right before it closed the dust devil hit and I got blasted with dirt.
Shit, so that's what that was!
