If I had this i'm pretty sure I would never leave the house anymore. The trailer gets better and better every single minute
Watching movies in the virtual cinema is a very cool idea.
Oh man I want this soo bad.
This is exactly what I wanted from VR. I remember when I was a teenager and watched ghost in the shell for the first time, I was researching methods and products for this exact purpose and was so sad that there was nothing viable on the market.
It's like a childhood dream come true for me.
oh my god that Rick and Morty background is so cool.
also the clip at the end where you're sitting at a nice, clean, clutter-free desk made me laugh cause I can imagine taking the VR goggles off and seeing tissues, dirty plates and mugs of old coffee everywhere in real life

The VR School of Rock segment was really fucking cool
It's all great until you need to use the keyboard.

Can you not type without looking at the keyboard?

Get involved with touch typing mate.
The VR School of Rock segment was really fucking cool
It isn't School of Rock without Jack Black.
I guess I just take for granted that I can type blind on a keyboard while holding a conversation with eye contact across the room
that's pretty nift.
Holy shit, could have those backgrounds from Earthbound as an vr desktop
Example

The theater option is really cool, I could see myself using that a lot.
Getting a really nice pair of headphones with this application and watching virtual cinema movies would be SO dope.
This looks amazing for sure.
now i can jerk off anywhere in the world

Touch type and/or Vive has a front facing camera called chaperone mode. Let's you see while wearing the headset.

imagine a giygas background
i thought of something like that to be really awesome. If i were ever to work from home it would be cool to have your virtual office be in venice, space or anywhere you want to work from. having realtime rendered sound and enviroments just to keep a cool and quiet space around you.
I tried this the other day using my DK1, it was really awesome, but due to the quality of the DK1, I can't see my self using it on a regular basis as I had to adjust a lot of font sizes to be able to see, the CV1 would be much better.
Here is the video I recorded as a test: https://vid.me/5cSd
The game works fine running full screen mode too but I couldn't get OBS to record it when it was full screen without it bugging out.
Y'know what they could do with this that would be the motherfucking best and would launch this in to something I would consider using all the time?
These backgrounds they have, if they made them animated and made them have sound. So we got space, arcades, a movie theater, or even just a computer desk in a room. But what I'm imagining is what if, say, you put the computer screen on a desktop monitor on a desk like normal, but the environment is that you're in this dark, cozy lodge, with a crackling fireplace and rain pouring outside, the levels and volume of which you can adjust, turn the rain or fireplace off, add lightning if you want, snow, or whatever. So any time you want you can look up at the window and watch the rain pouring down, and while you're using your desktop you have this cozy backdrop subtly relaxing you and making you feel cozy, and the sounds helping you feel even cozier. I can't put in to words how much I'd love that and how much it would make me feel completely chill and relaxed while doing editing work or playing games or watching something or whatever.
I don't know if that's possible for them to even do with this the way I'm imagining it, but if they could I'd probably be more familiar with that room than my actual computer desk.

From the looks of the video with the 3d environments, I think it could be very possible. Don't know how process heavy it would be but it would be possible.
Also the desert photos they have really have me thinking how cool it would be to have those as my backdrop while playing Fallout 1 or Fallout 2 in the middle, it would just be so visually appropriate

I'd end up lying down on the couch and having an awesome ceiling-theatre experience.
I really hope VR kicks off to a huge extent and doesn't fall flat on it's arse. The Vive looks really, really incredible so I'm feeling optimistic that it's gonna revolutionize a bunch of shit we do. Fingers crossed we look back in a couple of years and laugh at how we ever got by without VR.
MILKDROP!!!!!!
i just realized having a desktop that goes all the way around you gives a whole new level of practicality to office chairs

Ftfy
Microsoft should look into implementing something like this, would be pretty damn cool to have official support. Of course it'll be kinda half-assed at first, but down the line it may end up really cool.
Now make a rollercoaster envoirment
