And even without a case, a drop that didn't break X person's phone will probably break yours, or vice versa. It all depends on how it's dropped, when surface it's dropped on, etc.

if i spend several hundred dollars on my phone i'm not going to put a shitty case on it.
i'm not an idiot, i don't drop my phones, and i can keep them insured and have them repaired

If it brings in viewers which ends up paying for the phone itself, there's really no harm in him making these videos.

I'm not an idiot and don't drop my phones either, I've never done anything to break a single one of my phones since they came into existence, but the other day I was walking out of work and I was tired and didn't pick up my feet and tripped and my phone went bouncing across the parking lot. Not a fucking scratch on the thing because it's in an Otter Box, and if it wasn't I'd be picking it up in pieces. Shit that you don't control happens and when it does and your phone breaks, I'mma laugh.

I need a case on my iPhone 6 otherwise it gets pretty slippery during normal usage.

Honestly though, phones should be more durable. Im afraid that my xperia z1c drops and breaks, though that can be fixed by using a case (which i have) but using the case also makes the phone much more awkward to hold, larger and unpleasing to the eye. I bet if the protection was inbuilt to the phone in some way, much of those problems would be significantly lesser.

Give it another week, and it probably will. Even then, it adds to a video eco-system. Not always good to think of a video paying for itself but perhaps adding to others which might pay for it.
