I feel like Bethesda is a little bit late in the whole "Online Card game" craze, people are too connected to the ones they enjoy. Sort of like how most DOTA style games people create just freaking die, or have tiny player bases because the bigger players LoL and DOTA2 fucking destroy anything that get's released because players have already invested time into those games, why would they play another similar game?

I play both Magic: The Gathering and Hearthstone and I can tell you there is a monetary upkeep to continue playing them. People aren't going to start abandoning what they've already invested so much in to play other alternatives like Elder Scrolls: Legends unless they're clearly superior. You can't support all these hobbies at the same time feasibly, it just becomes way too much time and money. Hearthstone struck gold by not only being the first real online card game to reach a wide audience (thanks to the help of being on mobile devices), but also by being unique in how casual it is. It has allowed people who play other card games competitively to also play Hearthstone in a more casual sense.

You don't see many mobas retain community because most of them are honestly not good or bring any new concepts to the table. It's still possible to work as long as the dev put in the work to make it work, and not expect to ride success on "It's a MOBA!" alone. That's why games like Smite & Heroes of the Storm work.
This one seems to do a fair amount of interesting things that Hearthstone doesn't quite do, so I'll sure as hell play it when it comes out. Hopefully they'll consider putting it on Android too, since this is definitely the kind of thing I'd play when I'm away from my machine.

What game would you prefer, a game that looks like this? I play HS, but I do like the gritty look of the Bethesda one. I hope I get in the beta.
