That poor bastard
It is genuinely incredible just how much information people have managed to compile on this guy. It's like the Truman Show, only with more autism.
This is a guy who would have benefited immensely by having no access to the internet.
Well, this was depressing
You know what's funny? When I read the title I immediately pictured a really serious "VH1 Behind the Music" type of documentary. It wasn't that at all..
isn't his trial coming up?
isn't his trial coming up?
Yeah, it's under 48 hours away.
Fuck, that montage at the end with the childhood pictures. My heart.
isn't his trial coming up?
What happened?
What happened?
He pepper sprayed a gamestop employee.
What happened?
There's a video Chris had been replacing covers of sonic covers with this after they changed the colour of the characters arms. I believe in the video he'd defaced/destroyed or attempted to deface/destroy a sonic display. When he was called out by the employees and told to leave, he sprayed a random employee standing off to the side with pepper spray before storming off. According to police scanner audio, he'd been caught outside moments after knocking on someones car window. That person called the police, apparently.
The production value is pretty poor. The entire morality bit and goals of thd documentary are unneeded. Also there is too long of a pause between the text going to black and something else happening. Also you have a lot of background noise in the voice over. Also the monotone is really bad. Narrators aren't robots, they speak with less conviction than dialogue but not THIS much less. Also the this is a high school project should be removed. if this isn't yours then disregard.

This is actually pretty well made, I'm happy I finally got everything summed up for me

While I focused on the visuals of the video little as I was playing it so I cant comment on how he presented some of the information, but best I could tell he did alright.
Oh yeah, this should have just been another troll video. Nice assumption about my angle though. I personally never found Chris Chan funny and commented on something from a non-involved technical perspective. Point being, in video production you show, not tell. If you have to explain your video's intent, you failed in making that video.

I actually watched all of it. All it took was one guy to accidentally mispronounce Chris chan's name and he'd take it as a sign of the divine, which let me remind you is an animatronic bear conductor, to legally change his name. That stuff is so useless to know, but now it's committed to my memory. fuck.
This is pretty much a reminder to thank whoever made you turn out okay. And my god am I happy that I did.

Besides, it's not like the OP even asked for your opinion.
The scariest thing to me about this is that Chris is not the end. Once the internet gets bored they will find some one else. If not today, tomorrow. There will be many, many more people like Chris from which the internet will completely turn into a world wonder. While it's true that there will probably never be some one exactly like Chris, it's still scary to think of the possibilities. Like the narrator said, what happened to Chris was bad, and the internet runs on bad.
The person talking over the video sounds a lot like Critikal edit: The beginning sure did anyway, he drops the monotone-ness somewhere after that.

I really feel bad for the guy, but he's beyond help. A lot of people have tried to help him get better, but he's pushed off all of it and has slowly trailed down the path of insanity.

Very informative. I've always kind of wanted to know about Chris-chan without doing any reading.

I think Chris Chan is just one of the biggest examples because he's been so consistently active and outspoken and somehow manages to strike up so many varieties of drama over the years. With most people, they'll say or do one big stupid thing on the internet, but a few weeks after that event passes, the internet forgets all about it and moves on to something new. Like that girl whose dad got on youtube and said he had called the cyber police and back-traced everyone that made fun of his daughter. That video was viral for like a month or two and so many people got caught up in attacking or defending this girl, and the family had a fucking TV interview on the subject, then in a matter of days nobody cared anymore because nothing new was happening. With Chris Chan, something new is always happening.

Cutting online access now will not do anything - it's just too late. But who know how different could things be if something changed in his life before the whole Sonichu thing happened. This guy's life is a series of unfortunate events, but I have to wonder when exactly did he pass the point of no return.
Chris Chan is a great measure of how fucked up your life is. If you're better off than Chris, you're doing alright. If you're worse off than him, god help you.
