I don't know why, but Patrick Warburton seems like a poor man's John Hamm to me. Teaser was great though.
I like Patrick Warburton, but I don't think he's quite right for Lemony Snicket. I keep wanting to hear Jude Law
I almost would say that wayne june would be a good lemony snicket

While i'm excited to see what Warburton will do, i've always imagined Lemony Snicket as a small, thin man, hunched over a typewriter, writing furious paragraphs by candle light long into the night. Finishing another desperate chapter of the ghastly tale of the Baudalaire orphans before rushing off into the thick night in hunt of their story.
I'm curious about who will play Count Olaf, and how his performance will contrast against Jim Carrey's... whatever the hell this is

Oh, cool! He's a very competent actor. Curious on his take on the character.

I actually really liked Carry's portrayal in this film.

I don't know the hell you're smoking that that scene is just brilliant.

You'd be surprised that this was in the book. Its like this character was made for Jim Carrey. NPH has definitely aged and is a good replacement for Carrey.
I also like to think that Warburton is a mouthpiece for Snicket, with the real character somewhere else writing all of this down. This could work as I believe FINAL BOOK SPOILERS [sp]Lemoney Snicket isn't his real name, but a stage name to record the events unfolding in secrecy. He's really a relative of the Baudelaire Orphans.[/sp]

Actually really fucking close.
Maybe it's just me, but just hearing Patrick Warburton after everything else he's played makes it very hard to take him seriously here.
Not that it should be a completely serious role, and I'm extremely excited for the show, but that teaser felt like a knockoff Twilight Zone parody just by recognizing his voice

I honestly thought that was Jim Carey for a second
I cannot WAIT for this; I'm so stoked they'll be doing all the books and Netflix has been killing it lately.
What the fuck I would never have thought of him as somebody like that guy. I imagined some really anxious guy with a much less imposing voice.
Actually, comparing Warburton to a picture of Daniel Handler, the real Snicket, I can kinda see a resemblance.

John Hamm seems like a poor man's Patrick Warburton to me. Teaser was phenominal as well.
edit:
Holy shit Jon Hamm played that guy in Black Mirror?
This guy:

I legitimately thought it was Patrick Warburton (I never saw Mad Men).
I hope NPH doesn't just do a Carrey impression. He wasn't a very good Olaf, was way too comical.
the final jim carrey good era....

I'm just disappointed that it'll likely still be children's dark, rather than actually dark. Quirky, tongue in cheek darkness, rather than being legitimately grim.
this is a fortunate event of series

I've heard that as a theory, but the definite truth. Have you heard differently?
Anyways, this might be the first time I'll be hyped to follow a Netflix series. Loved these books in my childhood, I even snagged a stand used to display the 12th book to hold my collection (though right now its in storage and starting to fall apart, so that will need reinforcing at one point.)

If they go by the book with but a few creative liberties we should be golden.
Patrick Warburton might just work as Lemony Snicket, it's not the way I'd imagine him, both of them really.
I wonder who'll be cast as the orphans this time around
