Why the fuck would he record this with a camera?
hahhaha, filming the screen
Crysis didn't bring anything to it's knees. My crappy computer could run it on beyond high at a stable framerate. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was and still is the ultimate computer killer. I'm getting a lot of disagrees, but I'm just talking about my perspective. I could run Crysis on very-high, easy. It was an optimized game, just like the Unreal 3 engine. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was not. My computer chugged with the most basic of lighting settings. I was refering to computer killer by how much power it takes to run, not how pretty it looks. A little misconception on my behalf goes a long way in the negatives I see. And yes, I should've rephrased, it only was the computer killer at the time. Metro 2033 doesn't even work on mine because ATI pulled a dick move and moved over the X1900 series to legacy.
Lmfao half the damn video is him looking at a gate. Lets see it in combat, when the mole rats are coming out and attacking, when you are a drift on the wastes. Pathetic. Metro 2033 was a linear stable game, while Crysis was non-linear, open world and stable. It didn't bring anyone to it's knees, and it still looks better than many games out there.
I run this game at max on my gtx 260, and I also have a shit cpu, this 580 card is useless to me.
Except it's not really maxed out, Metro has real-time GI and other things that can only be enabled using the config.

Still doesn't look that great imo.
He gets like 25-30 average on a card like that? Wat?
The poor music choice and that he chose to record using a camera ruined the video
Why the fuck would he record this with a camera?
for the fps you guy just for comparison foo the fps becos if you wont too see it foul you have too typ it ap.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was and still is the ultimate computer killer.
Haha, No.
Pretty sure you're running it in a lower directX
DirectX 10.

Even the best HD videocamera can't get good video from filming a screen... Why not simply use that Fraps he has installed instead...
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was and still is the ultimate computer killer.
Back in 2007 maybe.
I can run it on full settings too, so what?
DirectX 10.
Exactly. No card (besides one shown in the video) can max out the game on DX11, unless combined with one or more other card.
Why the fuck would he record this with a camera?
recording with fraps messes with fps.
Exactly. No card (besides one shown in the video) can max out the game on DX11, unless combined with one or more other card.
I woukd run on DX11 if my card could support it, and if it does then my computer doesn't like dx11, but on dx10 I get about 60 fps average.
Why the fuck would he record this with a camera?
Fraps would bring it down to 1fps [editline]15th November 2010[/editline] I demand to see it on 3-way sli

It's more logical to use an external recording device while having a FPS display on the monitor if showing a video like this. If he wanted to make a FPS number graph, then all that's needed is to record the FPS with 3rd party software while playing. This isn't rocket science guys. [editline]15th November 2010[/editline]
I woukd run on DX11 if my card could support it, and if it does then my computer doesn't like dx11, but on dx10 I get about 60 fps average.
It's already becoming clear that you're not properly informed. [editline]15th November 2010[/editline]
He gets like 25-30 average on a card like that? Wat?
Well he is essentially played the game with it's maximum settings. He even has 4xAA enabled and is playing at 1920x1200 at DX11. For 30FPS average it's still quite playable for that, just not super smooth. The GTX 580 still has early drivers, so future updates will provide better performance. Give or take another 2-3 years this type of power will probably be the standard in a majority of affordable GPUs.
why is he running FRAPS in the background when he could just record it using that? :raise:
Recording with FRAPS harms the frame rate. This has already been said.
Recording with FRAPS harms the frame rate. This has already been said.
Exactly. It also may not give the most accurate or reliable result if you're trying to show a real time video of it in action.
Recording with FRAPS harms the frame rate. This has already been said.
If you're not an idiot and record the video to a hard drive that the game isn't running off of the frame rate hit is minimal.
I woukd run on DX11 if my card could support it, and if it does then my computer doesn't like dx11, but on dx10 I get about 60 fps average.
You clearly have no clue as to how much of a performance impact the DX 11 mode in this game has. I can run this game just fine on my 5770 in DX 10 mode but when I switch it to DX 11 my FPS gets raped.
