i don't understand how did a fucking instakilling magic attack make it into release? did someone have a spasm and put an extra zero somewhere where they shouldn't have?

But it needs some kind of scalar, as the soul cost becomes pointless the further you go along.
500 is nothing in PvP though.
most of the hexes that eat souls are broke as hell
most of the hexes that eat souls are broke as hell
Climax is dumb as hell. It consumes ALL your souls, but maxes out at 5000 souls.
Is it like in dark souls 1 where dark magic was a near insta-kill but basically all good players never got hit by it anyway
Is it like in dark souls 1 where dark magic was a near insta-kill but basically all good players never got hit by it anyway
yep.
It's okay guys, as long as you dodge every attack the game is perfectly balanced
Gee, I love all the Havel the Rock + Smelter Demon wielding Greatswords players there are too. Goes perfectly in hand with dark magic/hexes.
It's okay guys, as long as you dodge every attack the game is perfectly balanced
Nobody's saying that but it shouldn't be that hard to understand that harder hitting more devastating attacks will be easier to dodge.
Is it like in dark souls 1 where dark magic was a near insta-kill but basically all good players never got hit by it anyway
Difference is that was short ranged. Resonant soul has range and homing: meaning you can more easily punish with it as seen by the host player in the video who tried to trigger the boss. Even more so that the Resonant weapon buff gives you an amazing backup weapon as well.
there's actually a few things that needs to be balanced. i wish the game was more of a mechanic where things were harder to dodge but they didn't punish you so fucking hard if you accidentally missed the roll button. personally i think there should be any point in the game where a fast-casting offhand spell should be able to nuke you so hard, like GRS or WoG if you honestly thing GRS is this bad, people that run behind walls and WoG you are even worse. It's AOE, pretty unpredictable because all miracles have the same animation and really hard as hell to dodge. i just wish there was the ability to actually bring back old builds i had from dark souls, such as tank builds with just a twohanded claymore in hand. but since everyone and everything uses hexes/cheese spells, it's impossible to do it without losing every fight. **edit, i'm not saying nerf GRS or WoG, i'm saying add a fucking counterpart to it because it seems to be strong against nearly anything. it doesn't deserve a nerf, there needs to be a way to counter it as easy as it pretty much counters everything and everyone in the book. **another edit because i'm bad as hell: it's the same concept with the avelynn. the avelynn is inbalanced because of the fact no crossbow in the game can stand against it. I wish there was actually a single shot crossbow that'd have the punching power the avelynn did. then maybe people would actually have some variety in their PVP builds, and you wouldn't run into the same thing every time. it's either some guy in full havels, santiers, dark buffs, hexes, smelter demon shit, with a offhand avelynn or a caithia's chime, WoG or soul-greatsword. or you run into the dicks that are scum enough to use the bat-staff + dark fog.
The biggest buff to magic they did was nerfing great magic barrier into the fucking ground. Its a joke now, not even really worth using.
