it's legal in the us (except california) for a trans person to get blamed for their death in the legal system

It's attitudes like this that hinder progress in equality.
Especially when it comes from the media, where many influential people blindly follow the same opinions/believe what they are told on the news.

But not really. Fox have a history of being straight up bigoted and actively against anything that changes the status quo, even if it would aid in creating equality. I mean, look at this video alone. Usage of derogatory terms, disenfranchisement of a discriminated minority through caricatures and dismissal, talking about the topic as if they are an authority despite a complete lack of education in the area.
"Left is bad as right sometimes!!" is some bullshit pushed by the right that has somehow caught on in the public mind. Left leaning media outlets can't get away with even a fraction of the pure awfulness Fox does.

The whole point of their network is to appeal to old while conservatives. Its had the same goal since Bush took office.

Fair enough point, not sure what I was thinking. I have no love of the right by any means and haven't really ever seen the left as bad as right, but I sometimes forget just how asinine+bigoted Fox news can get and still get away with it.

Yeah. My comment came out completely wrong. I think what I meant is that I hear some people complaining that they are no far left news outlets to compare Fox to, yet a few do exist. Despite being just as far from center as fox, they don't use their position to excuse being shitty people or excusing themselves from actually confronting a topic. The far left analogue of Fox exists but its not nearly as agonistic and , well, asinine on topics involving equality and rights. Which means its the better medium.
It was a poor comment, I'm most of the way through finals week popping in here between chapters of the physics book I'm studying for tomorrow. Combine that with sleep deprivation and things get muddled.
