[sp]Whuuuuaaaaahhhhgg[/sp]
It's cool to see how this technology is finally becoming reality.
I can already see a bright future for Oculus.
I can't imagine how scary that would be, I have trouble playing these games on a normal monitor.
I want to get one of these and some good headphones and glue it to my friends head while he is sleeping, wake him up, and have a horror game on. and watch as he freaks the fuck out.
I really want to buy a rift now but then ill have to throw down for the consumer one which is already said to be way better than the dev kit one right now.
Im so fucking glad that VR is finally becoming a thing that doesnt just appear to be some gimmicky bullshit, this is like one of those things that starts a new age of gaming, just how consoles started one, and then handhelds, and 2D to 3D.
I'm already scared shitless of anything with jump scares. I think I'd be completely incapable of playing it like this.

Imagine if it was weightless, and you couldn't really feel it was on your face... That would fuck someone up a bit, haha.
Maybe put on GTA or something, first person camera without the HUD.
Man I really want to play Pathfinder again.
Didn't expect him to scream like THAT
just realised: imagine playing this ON ACID
just realised: imagine playing this ON ACID
that was my first thought , so i got me some https://www.dropbox.com/s/fb9oa23atkjtnu5/2013-09-14%2023.31.50.jpg
Great now his going to become an angel...and everyone in this thread!

Inside the Rift it looks life-sized and on eye height right in front of him, so yeah. Screaming is to be expected.
Y'know with a couple tiny components, it'd be pretty easy to make a blink sensor
SCP: Containment breach just got a whole lot more terrifying

Oh I expected him to scream, I just didn't expect such a [sp]feminine shriek.[/sp] :v:
Reminds me of this:

Pure evil.
That Kraken demo made me realise the truth behind the fear of the depths; on land you only have to worry about things coming from certain directions, whereas in the dark depths it could come from any angle.
Still, once there are enough games that support this thing, I am SO getting one of these; hopefully my muscle memory will be good enough that I'll not need to look at the keyboard.
What did he see? I don't know what that game is.
To be honest, he reacted better than I would have
the idea of weeping angels fucking terrifies me, so I would have probably sprinted out of the room with the oculus still on me
Was showing my girlfriend and her family his game last night. None of them could finish it. They kept taking off the rift because they were too scared.
Rift is the shit
Horror games on oculus must be terrifying. Not only because the experience is so up front, but because playing without screen means you wont have this safety net of looking away or turning on the lights.

Exactly why I hate games where you have to jump into water where you can't see under the surface. To me Duke Nukem 3D was probably the worst for that because there would always be at least one of those fucking floating brain things there. They aren't even that scary, but the thing about the underwater ones was that even though I'd always know they were under the surface, I just wouldn't know where or how many. Then I'd jump in and 9 times out of 10 there'd be one right in my face taking up the whole screen.
I have a feeling that, 20 or 30 years down the road, it will be considered an act of great bravery to play our generations horror games in virtual reality.

With the Oculus Rift, watch as horror virtual reality will become a challenge to get into a university frat. :v:
good thing he didn't break his Hatsune Miku statue
They seem to scare newcomers nicely.
