From the makers of Coraline
Gotta love them. Their stop-motion animation is impressive
Wait, the whole move is stop motion? That's absolutely incredible. I thought it was all CG.

Well there are elements of CG, but for the most part it was stop motion
How come I've never heard of this film?
Shame it's doing poorly in theaters. Looking up the numbers it had a 60 million dollar budget and it has barely gotten half of that with it's domestic and foreign release.
I'm so gonna watch this movie when it releases.
I kinda wanted to see it when I saw the preview in theaters. I didn't know it was out already.

Its already out
It looks like an interesting movie, it just didnt have any marketing, which is sad because its pulling in terrible numbers in the box office because of it.

Poor marketing. There are literally no ads where I live. When I saw it in theater with my buds, we were 4 in the whole place.
I say go spread the word about this movie. It's really a shame that it's so unheard of.
Saddest part for me when watching these types of videos is remembering that both in the trailers and in the credits you only see "famous voice actor 1", "famous voice actor 2", etc., and here you see people doing art that is almost magic. Hell, even the thumbnail...

I heard nothing about this movie, but I saw posters around the city and I just went "meh just looks like another cg movie, I also haven't heard anything about it so it's probably not that good", but after seeing the trailer and that it's stop motion I kinda really want to go see it.

It's a damn shame. I've seen trailers for it on Cartoon Network and nick but I just don't see families taking their kids to see this movie just because its not Disney or familiar. This is why we get stuck with crappy reboots and sequels, because no one is willing to go out and see something new. People rather bitch and moan while spending cash to see shitty remakes than give new ip's any light of day.

None of the Laika movies made much money. Coraline made just $125 million on a $60 million budget. If Disney made it it would go over 500, I'm sure of it. It is such a great movie and can be watched by both the kids and adults.
Watched it recently with my friend. It was very impressive visually and the story wasn't half bad. I didn't see much people in the theater when I went, but it's probably because of the Dolby Atmos pricing.
wait, matthew mcconaughey SIGN ME THE FUCK UP
I really liked the movie but I can understand if others think it's just okay. Aesthetically it's one of the most beautiful, interesting and lively stop motions I've seen. It deals heavily with death which I like but the dialogue isn't fantastic and a lot of the humor just made me shake my head. I think Coraline has a much better story and characters but I still really enjoyed Kubo
