I really want this to be good but I'm scared it will get boring after a few hours at least its out the day before my birthday!

Of course will have to wait for someone to reach it first to see what is there and even if your gunning for it they said it would take like 40 hours or about that to reach it. Some might not have the patience for that kind of trek but the planets and wildlife are supposed to get nuttier the closer to the center you get so hopefully the thought of more unique worlds the further you go will be enough to push people to keep going.

pls dont be spore 2.0 pls dont be spore 2.0
This actually shows a LOT tbh at least with how diverse it gets
footage show you a bug of flying through an asteroid....
This looks like refried ass. I'm still looking forward to trying it out though.
More hyped for the soundtrack than for the game, tbh 65dos <3
I'm so torn on buying it or not. Best bet is to wait for initial reviews and let's plays to see if it's worth it.

Unless it's some huge game changing thing. Even if it is, no one would want to do it anyway if the journey to get there is a snore fest.
looks like an extremely complex walking simulator.

Not that it will affect sales the game is sitting right near the top of the top sellers list on steam just as pre-orders. I think many people will want to buy it regardless just for the experience to see what it is like. Also the game does supposedly have a story that you uncover by finding special writings and stuff on other planets written in alien languages that you must learn by trading with the alien npc's. I would have to imagine the center is going to be very story related so youtube may very well spoil it like you said.

As for my thoughts on the game, I really don't know. I'm going to wait for initial reviews that aren't done by huge or controversial review outlets (because they'll more than likely gush over the game for money or say they absolutely hate it because it didn't live up to their hype standards), as well as general opinions before purchasing it. The game being on GOG is nice, however, and is actually tempting me to buy it on there at some point. The fact that a high profile game is going DRM free bodes pretty damn well for the industry, even if it doesn't change anything in the long run.
Interested in the game as it seems similar to Elite Dangerous, although I'd hold off on pre-ordering or buying it at launch until the reviews come out. Might just save my money for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided as it is released later in the same month.
I like exploration games, I do, but they usually give me incentive to play more. All the developers for this game seem to do is like showing off how big the universe is. Yeah, that's great. I love the diversity and variety. Can I see some gameplay that isn't walking around or flying around looking at stuff? Perhaps a more indepth look at the combat, or anything?

It's a shame it isn't co-op honestly, that was the selling point for me

It's the first of 4 in a series of trailers to be released every week until the game comes out, focusing on the 4 pillars of gameplay in NMS, the first one being exploration. Combat will be next week's trailer. Also yeah use a search engine, they've definitely shown more than you are letting on since the game was announced around 4 years ago: [editline]14th July 2016[/editline]
It's a shame it isn't co-op honestly, that was the selling point for me
They came right out of the gates saying you aren't going to be playing with your friends so I don't see how it was a selling point.
This is going to become the game of the year guys and gals. No doubt. You must try it before judging you crappy judgers!
So have you tried it before judging it?
No I didn't. But I predict best game of year.
Whenever I see No Man's Sky mentioned anywhere I think of this
Planet temp is near absolute zero Animals walking about Makes perfect sense

Show's the most gameplay. Walking around, showing off the exploration and how vast everything is and occasionally shoot something here and there. I do like that we see NPC dialogue, despite how little it is. Still doesn't get me hooked because everything I've seen isn't really exciting or new, besides the whole limitless variety of creatures and planets, which does sound awesome. As much as I don't want to shit on this game, but the gameplay itself just.....doesn't seem fun. I've heard about somewhere that they took inspiration from Halo when they created whole the combat, but I'm not seeing it at all.

Seen this one too, and it's pretty much the same video as above, down to the same "blow a hole in the ground to gain warmth".

Okay, this is another issue I've had with these videos. They explain all this cool features and scenarios like "cloak to get away from battle" but show none of it. This video explains all these, but I want to see them. When will they finally show all these cool things I keep hearing about? From what I've gathered, you're main goal is to fly to the center of the galaxy for an unknown reason. Along the way you can discover creatures and planets with different kind of terrain and life, but all planets are one biome. You can gain resources to upgrade your weapon to do different things like destroy terrain and...other things. You can upgrade your suit to increase resistance to hazards. You can trade with NPCs, but must find a way to communicate with them (I really, really like this). You disturb anything on a planet, you get shot by space police. You can fly around in different spaceships made for different scenarios and fight or defend yourself from other space ships. I mean, yeah that's content, but from a game that claims to be gigantic in size, you'd honestly expect more ,at least I do anyway. Either they still haven't shown a lot, or that's all there is to this game. Explore procedurally generated things, get stuff to make you more durable to explore even more dangerously procedurally generated things and head towards a goal that we don't know anything about. Hell, I could at least tolerate at least some of it if I could play with a buddy or two, but oh wait, we still don't have a clear answer on multiplayer.
I thought people were hyped for this?
I thought people were hyped for this?
Insert "I was looking forward to this but I seen some videos and it looks really shallow compared to the price so now I'm not interested and fuck this game comment". It's not what a lot of people visualized the game was when it was first shown. I'm looking forward to playing the game but I'm not looking forward to all the whining when it releases that goes over the same boring shit that has followed this game for the last year.

Also a few of the Devs were huge text adventure fans so there's supposedly quite a few text adventure puzzles. Also there's the different factions with power-play included, so space combat isn't just limited to pirate/defend. These are mostly things that have been said in interviews though, not shown. To be frank it's basically the most common question asked and coming from my point of view it almost seems like a bandwagon (not saying it is, just that seeing the same questions over and over can take its' toll and change how you perceive those asking the questions). There's a very good (and long) post about what you can do that is stickied in the no man's sky subreddit that you can read here https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/4didkh/what_do_you_do_in_no_mans_sky_and_other_questions/ [editline]14th July 2016[/editline]
Insert "I was looking forward to this but I seen some videos and it looks really shallow compared to the price so now I'm not interested and fuck this game comment". Combat/trading/survival are all just bonuses to me.

It would be cool the closer you get to the center of the galaxy. The more intense or insane the designs of the planets would be. Would be nice if there were massive alien derelicts floating in space that you could check out. Like the ones you can see in the homeworld 2 backgrounds. Massive hulks of alien technology just floating about.
