They fit the tiara in
10/10
Looks great. With that mini series written and drawn by Genndy Tartakovsky coming up and this, it's a good time to be a fan of Luke Cage.
Good music.
looks much better (and I hope it is) then Jessica Jones.
the music part at 0:44 reminded me this

Ooh, that punch to the face at the Chinese place.
The wincing was real.
Man that framing of Cottonmouth and Biggie's painting was fantastic and the music is killer once again. Can't wait til Sep 30.
so if this dude's invulnerable, where's the drama come from?
Holy fuck the music in this and the teaser are great. Pretty excited for this

Jessica Jones was pretty good, though.
so if this dude's invulnerable, where's the drama come from?
Just because he's personally invincible doesn't mean his actions don't have consequences. You can't punch your way out of everything.
so if this dude's invulnerable, where's the drama come from?
he's black
Just because he's personally invincible doesn't mean his actions don't have consequences. You can't punch your way out of everything.
yeah but then what happens if you don't give a fuck about the other characters/they're not good? you just know this dude won't be harmed or put in danger. it's kind of why superman wouldn't work without kryptonite, but then the kryptonite always comes into play and it's boring. i dunno man it just seems like a boring idea for a character.

Oh you're one of those.
Oh you're one of those.
no that was poorly worded, i realise there's plenty of OTHER drama, but it makes the main character boring. a big old gary sue in a way. one punch man parodies this exact thing for comedy. i'm not familiar with luke cage but dudes who are (near) indestructible are generally pretty dull. everything always has to be happening to people around him, and he has to give a shit. he won't ever be in danger.
"You might be bulletproof, but Harlem ain't."
In Daredevil and Jessica Jones, their actions had consequences on their loved ones and the city they swore to protect.
exactly, and the problem with those is that i didn't care about any of the characters. but at least daredevil can get beat the fuck up

No it doesnt. You dont need to make the hero get his shit pushed in every second for him to be interesting.
I bet you think Superman is a bad character too.
i'm not saying there can't be compelling drama around the character. i'm saying it relies on me caring about the other characters in the universe that aren't the protagonist. his power is just boring. you dig?
No really, your view on how characters can only be interesting if they can get fucked up (even though him, and even Superman yes without kryptonite, can) is really 2-dimensional.

Except you're saying that just because the character cannot be physically harmed by conventional means that this makes him a boring character when thats not necessarily the case.

Read Superman Red Son.
Superman as we know him may not be inherently interesting (I do personally find almost every interpretation boring) but Red Son really went to town on trying to make him a much better character and posed him with genuinely tough challenges throughout the story.
Generally DC alternate universe and what-ifs are way way better than main continuity especially with characters that might seem one-note or plain boring.

you don't need to actually have them gettin beat, but the fact it's a possibility is compelling. batman rarely gets beat up, but you know it can happen. indestructible dudes just have that removed entirely.
and yeah. superman is boring a fuck and i don't care what anybody says. invulnerable goodie two shoes who anybody could just walk all over if they have the ex machina weapon when the writers need a way for him to falter. it's boring

maybe not a boring character, but boring powers. like i said, not familiar with the dude, just askin questions

Superman is a character thats effectively written when you play to the characters strengths in that he's not really (in most cases) supposed to be punching people all day every day forever and ever. He's like a dad who can fire laser beams from his eyes. In current comics he literally is, but you get my point.
The entire issue with characters like this are purely down to the writer.
Swamp Thing was a completely throwaway character then Alan Moore came along and turned him into one of the best written comic characters ever.
Punisher is a one-note "muh revenge" character until Garth Ennis worked absolute magic on giving him a horrifying backstory and truly challenging people's perceptions of morality.
Jessica Jones was pretty good, though.
Both Daredevil season are much better and JJ didn't need to be so many episodes. It's entire plot should have been only 3-6 episodes.
a bulletproof black man - the one thing the police fear the most.
nah id rank s2 of daredevil as really bad if it werent for frank castle
S2 DD would have been total garbage without Frank. I honestly don't remember anything BUT Frank from that season, He stole the show.
nah id rank s2 of daredevil as really bad if it werent for frank castle
I wouldn't say it was really bad, but the Elecktra storyline wasn't the greatest.
Like many reviewers have said, the first 4 episodes were pretty much perfect.
so if this dude's invulnerable, where's the drama come from?
he's not invulnerable, he has unbreakable skin, there's a big difference. he can be drowned, microwaved, poisoned, suffocated etc
in Jessica Jones he suffers massive internal injury when a shotgun is unloaded point blank into his chin. If someone with super strength fucks him up, he stays fucked up because nobody can operate on him.

It's kinda odd though how any force can be absorbed by him because of his skin. I get being bulletproof, but the guy takes a truck at full speed and shrugs it off.

If you watched Jessica Jones you know he's not immune to [sp]mind control from Kilgrave[/sp] so it's safe to say he's not invulnerable to everything.

he does have super strength though doesn't he?
