What makes Xbone pixels the best pixels?

Uncompressed pixels at 60hz, that has to be a joke

Replace pixels with textures and it could make some sense
I don't care about the Xbox, but did Todd Howard just say they were going to bring VR to Fallout 4?
I don't care about the Xbox, but did Todd Howard just say they were going to bring VR to Fallout 4?
Yes. VR versions of DOOM and Fallout 4 will be released in 2017.

God damn it Bethesda, now I need a VR headset...
So... no pricing or specs on this?
holy fuck my computer only does 30hz, this shits incredible

I bet these marketers have a game among themselves about how much they can insult the intelligence of their target audience and get away with it.

doom won't come to vr, that was just a thing for E3. fallout 4 however will come to vr

I'd imagine they're talking about the game resolutions everyone seems to obsess over but high quality pixels is funny.

you could always try committing a B&E for one or selling your ass on the street for cash

I will build a great pixel- and let me tell you, nobody builds better pixels than me. I will build great, great pixels on our screens, and I will make Microsoft pay for it
pretty sure they're actually referring it to being native 4k and not upscaled 4k
Hey guys we are here to announce the new Xbox One S, a new Xbox One that is a bit smaller and cheaper and will have HDR capabilities but OH SNAP wait don't buy our Xbox One S because now we reveal a much better Xbox One.
Like after announcing the Xbone S they gave a reason why not to get a Xbone S

I'm afraid neither of those work for a fatass pasty white dude who plays video games all day...

True, but the Xb1 S is substantially cheaper than the old model. If you don't care about VR or 4K, and just want a Madden + Call of Duty machine, that makes the Xb1 an attractive offer.

You don't have to buy a flagship phone to continue using android to its fullest extent. In case you didn't notice, they made it clear that this isn't a successor, but instead a first step in making Xbox an iterative hardware family comparable to a phone ecosystem. (Most) Scorpio games will run on Xbox One and vice versa.
I'm expecting the next piece of hardware after scorpio to launch in either in 2019 or 2020.

Man, the comments section on that video :v:
I know exactly what to expect, but I still have to look.
What makes Xbone pixels the best pixels?
They didn't say that though. They were referring to HDR. They can make that claim because they didn't attribute it to their console, but the technology behind it.

Thanks for the Wikipedia link dude.
Anyone adopting HDR will literally get higher quality pixels. A HDR pixel has a huge bit depth and a higher gamut than LDR data, especially when you consider most monitors bottleneck LDR data even more. This translates to a measurable improvement in image fidelity for a number of reasons. The biggest one is reducing the problem of perceptual accuracy. Simply put, an image viewed under different ambient lighting conditions won't look the same. Like a movie in a theater versus a movie in your home, with the lights on.
HDR has the advantages that by containing a much bigger range of possible values it not only contains perfectly accurate color and luminance data (something LDR cannot hope to match), but also by having much more contrast it perceptually improves the image you see in any viewing environment. By presenting data directly rather than making a conversion, you negate a lot of problems. No different from raw audio vs an mp3, really. It's a simple problem of floating point vs integer precision.
Anyways, I might as well link a presentation on the subject which draws comparisons to chiaroscuro and films: http://renderwonk.com/publications/i3d2013-keynote/i3dkeynote-final.pdf
Edit:
I could also talk about 4K HDR and how it relates to visual and vernier acuity but that's a long winded, very technical thing to do. Suffice it to say when viewed at a distance, 4K HDR will converge to a crisper picture than 4K LDR.

If you have used a DSLR, you should already understand that uncompressed pixels means HDR. It makes perfect sense.

Having been a photographer for many years, that's really not something anyone says.
The statement in the video is really just absurd outside of its (possibly) intended context.
It's something the people who discuss sensor tech talk about in great detail, and not to uncommon to find mentions in photography blogs.
I think the statement is fine. It gives the watcher the understanding that the content being displayed is going to be more vibrant and detailed than what was previously possible, but without relying on knowledge like gamut or bit depth. Not only that, but how many people have physically seen HDR displays? People understand "more pixels", or resolution, but how would you sum up HDR? The only answer is, "better pixels."
