A bit too heavy-handed for my tastes, but there's truth in certain parts in it. My friend is currently dealing with a fallout with her Mormon family because they're demonizing her for being selfish, immoral, lost, etc. It's awful.

It is short and to the point.
As for demonizing? Any ideal or faith that demonizes or places blame outside the self, is a false religion or idea.
I may add more time to time to this thread.
I'm not denying that the video is truthful - overall I think it's a good watch and made me uncomfortable, but I'm saying the style is a little bit heavy-handed - almost a little cliche I guess.

Would it make me awful if I found it campy?
Discomfort is a way to get the message to stick in your head. You will not be forgetting it any time soon.
Discomfort is a good thing. I like exploring things that make me feel bad, because then it inspires change. It's why I like tragic books and movies, and learning about serial killers. Not looking into the dark for the sake of sparing you discomfort is disservice to you and everyone else.
I agree. The sooner you go into your self, and accept the dark things and things that make you uncomfortable, the better off one will be.
How would've you done the film differently?
@Lurkers We here at Facepunch are a World Peace Organization. We are not trying to recruit you but you are free to join if you are willing. Join us and our Elite Mission.

Make it not so accusatory from the very beginning, because if the goal is to make people aware, you have to make sure you compensate for their defenses by not initiating them so strongly.
starting a cult actually seems like a p fun time waster
meet new people and become more involved in the community
it'd basically be like starting a book club except you gain influence, loyalty, and cash

There is a difference between a cult in the negative sense and gaining a following. Sounds like you want a following.
The problem with cults is your first recruits will be dysfunctional or broken in some way. Your job would to make them more dysfunctional and broken. The reason for this is to make them become submissive and obedient, thus easier to exploit. If you're ok with that, then more power to you.

I am not sure if you make films. I do know you make music. Any chance you can make an audio version of this, in the way you think would be more effective?
