It does have meaning in an ~artful~ way (Well it's meant to) , each person is meant to represent a characteristic he has and how to be the best he needs to be, the boy must overcome these feelings. Something along the lines of that. It also shows stereotypes, racism, mental disorders and how people treat them and finally the media in a critical fashion.
But when you look at it its still hilarious even if you don't see its intrinsic meaning.
