I would post the second dispatch but it's filled with gore so you'll have to find it yourself, I suggest watching it since it's a whole lot worse then this, the hotel they were in is nearly hit and a bunch of other stuff, also an eerie speech before the missiles start to hit at night.

The reason it's worse is because they don't have iron dome, I already posted dispatch 2.

Should start a Vice News thread with a list of all the interesting documentaries and stuff like that, (I might do that)
The vice News is the last hope for Western journalism.
Anytime Iron Dome is mentioned I gotta post this video.

Can anyone really confirm solid numbers for the Iron Dome's accuracy? I was listening to NPR the other day and a security and foreign-policy professor came on and said that it was "doing poorly" due to the fact that the missiles have to hit these rockets head on, and they've only really been hitting them from the sides.

That's pretty fucking scary honestly. I feel really bad for the local/civilian population of Israel, having to deal with that shit daily.
Can someone explain the Iron Dome to me? I'm picturing it as a set of missile launchers that intercepts incoming rockets but I'm not so sure if I'm thinking of it right.

It's confusing, the numbers of the missiles the Iron Dome intercepted is less than 30% of the numbers of missiles launched. But that's because they estimate the danger regarding each missiles, and only intercept high-profile ones which can hit cities as opposed to open land.
I'm not sure what the accuracy is, but I believe it's between 90-95%. It's definitely above 90%.

Pretty much, that's it. Their radar systems detect incoming rockets, and they automatically fire air burst missiles on an intercept course, like the old game Missile Command.

Makes sense. I'm guessing they ignore rockets that hit empty areas since they're not much of a threat, preferring to shoot down missiles over largely populated areas?
